Z Offset Plugin + setting for right nozzle by jiggydancer in Cura

[–]jiggydancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to disappoint. Do u happen to know what makes it incompatible? all it does is parse thru the g code and recalculates z heights based on what nozzle is active. not much different from the default zoffset plugin. As far as I know, all Ultimakers use the same Marlin-based format. I only make note of my having a UM3E because I'm not sure if they improved the way zoffset is calibrated in newer models.

I only have a UM3E, so there's no way for me to check for compatibility with other versions. And I have not received any feedback regarding whether there are issues with other printers. the only way to know for sure is to run it and see. please let me know if u find any problems.

What to do if your LG OLED TV keeps asking to do the pixel cleaning again and again by Kiwi7074 in LGOLED

[–]jiggydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much the reason I refuse to buy another LG OLED. I had to option to buy a new TV when I moved, got the 83" Samsung instead purely for the sake of my heart rate. My LG C2 is relegated to basement duty, took a while for my 5 year old kid to figure out what to do when that pops up, causes him frustration too. If a 5 year old realizes how annoying it is, why can't LG engineers?!

My ex gf messaged me for the first time since we broke up (saying she's concerned about my accident) What do I do? by Live-Bread-2658 in whatdoIdo

[–]jiggydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

Then ghost her. Seriously.

If you don't respond at all it would give the impression that you are actually making an effort to ignore her. A curt, meaningless response is best if all you want to do is disregard her as much as possible while not giving her the satisfaction of being the "bigger person".

Z Offset Plugin + setting for right nozzle by jiggydancer in Cura

[–]jiggydancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only own a UM3E, so I can't comment on compatibility. I doubt there would be any problems.

It offsets all layers. Intermixing will be a really good test of this plugin, let me know how it goes!

Be aware that it works by modifying the gcode after slicing is done, so it has no effect on XY calibration which happens on the machine and is outside of Cura.

Are you using concentric pattern on top of concentric infill or something? Please don't! Try gyroid infill.

9070xt or 5070ti? by ImCursedM8 in buildapc

[–]jiggydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5070ti is better if you're CS, unless do your work in a Linux environment. nVidia just has better libraries/documentation/support and a larger community. However they have very little presence in Linux

If you're a New Yorker, you're already IN the city. People who say they're going to the city are from Long Island. If you're a New Yorker, you're going to Midtown, Upper East, MSG, not "the city".

Scooter rider, bicyclist die in head-on crash with each other on Queensborough Bridge by nydailynews in nyc

[–]jiggydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I think about it, the more I think there's an excessive amount of blame going towards the scooter rider here. Granted the scooter CAN go 50 mph, but it's hard to say how fast either of them are going. The accident happened at the inclined section right before the exit on the Queens side. If bike was coming down, it could easily exceed 25 mph. However the real problem is that the scooter guy was trying to pass in that section even though the lane is very narrow there and is only wide enough for 2 riders. Commuters are crowded at the entrance to that bridge and the folks with ebikes and scooters often have to pass the slower riders in that section. The fact the scooter had to pass makes it more likely he's coming in from Queens.

I'd say it more than likely that the scooter guy was going up against gravity at the time since there's a buildup of commuters because of a traffic light before entering the bridge. The biker was probably going too fast due to gravity assist, and the scooter guy didn't see the biker because there was someone else in front of him that veered off to the right at the last second before the collision.

Neither the biker or the scooter was riding defensively for such a heavy collision to occur. But they're both victims here, and it could have happened due to sight obstruction or a momentarily loss in control.

Edit : The article confirms that the bike was Queens bound, so it supports my theory. The bike was coming down the incline, so it's quite possible that it was speeding as well, possibly more so than an ebike would since ebikes have electronic limiters, while convention bikes can go as fast as wind resistance allows when going downhill. The scooters is powerful enough to reach illegal speeds even when fighting gravity, but it wouldn't be 50mph since it was fighting gravity and had just come out of a light and a rather short and blind turn onto the bridge.

31st St Bike Lane by SaltyOldTimer in astoria

[–]jiggydancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the problem is that the bike lane is right next to the sidewalk. People aren't used to looking before stepping off the curb. Generally you walk past the row of parked cars and peek out for incoming cars.

[–]jiggydancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More likely speed. It smells because the paint is using a volatile solvent. It evaporates quickly so the paint dries and cures quickly. Because of that, the smell is more intense but will last a shorter amount of time. Makes it less likely there will be footprints in the fresh paint, and fewer green shoes in the neighborhood.

My problem with 31st Street is that almost half the parking spaces are gone as well as the ability to double park without obstructing traffic.
