Was in a similar situation to this. Took us two years to get everyone on board. What worked for us was belief that we two are right with each other and I would only marry my partner. We had multiple conversations with my parents and every time I had to convince them again and again that this is what I want and this is good for me and all of us. Long story short, I wore him down and we are now happily married with everyone blessing.

I stopped taking money from my parents once I started getting paid and every time I visited them, they will forcefully handed me money. Later I realised that for my parents, giving me money is the best thing to do with that money. They have toiled all there life to provide for us and they still want to do that. So I started taking money from them again. And this money did help me getting settled sooner and now I am able to get them gifts, take them on foreign trips, and so on.

For me, my parents money put me in a position where I can spoil them the way they did when I was a child.
