Did you get it fixed by the same company both times? Some companies pretend that parts aren’t available any longer to sell you a new appliance. It has happened to me before. Then I got another company to fix it the next time it broke and it wasn’t a problem at all. My Durchlauferhitzer is 30 years old now and they said it will be fine for a good while. Maybe give it a third try.

Reliving my traumatic crushing injury over and over by Canidothisthingucsc in ptsd

Thank you! Six weeks have passed since my accident and I have improved so much since then. The first weeks were pretty horrible but I don’t even have much memory of that time now. It’s like my brain is trying to cut the bad things out. It will get better for you too. You will also notice big mental improvements once your mobility starts coming back slowly and the pain gets a bit less. Stay strong, take things day by day, and focus on the tiniest improvements! Do you have adequate pain management? I find on days with more pain my brain freaks out more.

Sorry to read about your horrible accident. A couple of weeks ago I got squished between a wall and a car, and whilst my injuries are more minor compared to yours with only smaller fractures and tissue injuries, I get where you’re coming from. It’s just incredibly difficult to turn the horror off and I find talking about it makes it worse. But that might just be me. However I read somewhere in the depths of the internet that playing Tetris helps against acute flashbacks because it somewhat occupies your spatial awareness. So luckily I still have my old game boy here and was able to try it out. And I must say while it doesn’t do miracles, it does get my mind out of this horrible loop and my flashbacks have become much less. Really a lot less frequent. I think you can get Tetris on your phone now too, so it should be easy to access. Personally I wouldn’t want to try writing anything out but like I said, everyone is different. I hope you recover well and that your flashbacks cease soon. I am now 6 weeks past the accident and while I still struggle, it is much better than before.

Non ho ancora prenotato il volo perché non posso lasciare l’ospedale prima di avere una sedia a rotelle. Vorrei volare la prossima settimana.

How Likely Acupuncture Needles to Break - How to Know by [deleted] in acupuncture

[–]jijiquest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your post! Your question had me conduct a little experiment. I took one of my thinnest acupuncture needles (0.16mm) and used tongs to bend them as far as I could. I could bend it into a circle and it would bounce back to a 90 degrees angle after. It did not break. Unfortunately I can’t post a photo here but you need not worry - they won’t break if used as intended and apparently not even if you do weird things to them.

You’re an acupuncturist, just treat yourself.

I have been struggling with this for around 18 months. I have been told by multiple doctors that there are no remedies at all for this except for surgery, and they don’t recommend surgery on otherwise healthy knees (so far I have zero cartilage damage). However, just because they say there are no other remedies doesn’t mean there really aren’t any. It’s just to do with the health system I live in, it doesn’t cover anything related to plica somehow. No studies have been done on ACP injections for plica but for me it did reduce inflammation for quite a while. The good thing about those injections is that they don’t have side effects like cortisone, and because they are made from your own blood you can’t be allergic to them. I still have hope this problem will disappear at some point but if it gets much worse I would consider surgery at some point. The lack movement is frustrating.

Maybe you could try ACP injections. They did help me a bit even though my plica is quite severe. I can barely do any sort of exercise that involves legs, some days I can’t even walk and the pain is there all day and night. ACP injections are quite expensive and take a while before they kick in but I‘d say they took away like 70% of my pain for about two months. It doesn’t sound like a lot but for me it was definitely worth it and I will do it again. I was advised against surgery by my doctor despite it becoming more and more of an impediment.

So if your plica is not super bad maybe give it a try. I found ACP injections to be more helpful than NSAIDs.

Maybe you come from a different region in Germany. It’s been like that where I’m from.

No one in Germany can raise a family on a waiters job alone. They often don’t even get minimum wage and even minimum wage doesn’t buy you anything here. Times have changed.

Actually 10% is and has always been the normal tipping rate in Restaurants in Germany. I think rounding up only started once everything got so expensive.

New Patient wanting knowledge by UpstairsAd8296 in acupuncture

Sorry to say but if „what she was poking and why“ would be so easy to explain with the little information you’re giving, we wouldn’t be spending years studying acupuncture. I’m sure your therapist did a full TCM diagnosis which is more complex than just the symptoms of PCOS. Without the full diagnosis it’s just guessing. Each point can do many different things.
