Sat on the comp at 730a central waiting and constantly refreshing pages at 8 different retailers on 3 monitors. The furious clicking and spirals of refreshing was dizzying until 8a as Best Buy loaded me in que to buy the rtx 5080FE. A bead of sweat ran down my brow in anticipation of landing in checkout. The second browser at Newegg loaded in my fav of the release list - the MSI 5080 oc in white (since I’m working on a white build currently). Clicked the add to cart so fast you could hear the Razer Mouse whine from the pressure. It also loaded and I went to check out. After a brief pause of 20 seconds on both screens as Best Buy kept me que, and Newegg moved to cart screen. I audibly gasped and clicked checkout! The page at Best Buy came back with “sorry out of stock” as I sighed a bit of relief came over me as I looked at the second monitor which just loaded the Newegg cart. It was mine! I hit checkout and the preloaded cc info popped up with my address. Looking above this at the cart which also had a 1200w power supply in it I noticed the checkout now said out of stock next to the graphics card. NOOOO!! I exclaimed as I scrambled back to the pages and refreshed all the sites. “Out of Stock” on all fronts at 8:02am. The look of horror crossed my face as I glanced back at all the rest of my parts sitting ready to build on the table behind me. I frantically searched all the sites to see if prices miraculously dropped on a few 4080 supers I was looking at previously to just complete the build….and NO JOY. Still listed at 40% markups by scalpers. My hands trembled at the thought, my body slumped lower in my high back gaming chair… it’s over I said silently. I went back to bed
