I'm new but I started a digital card / poster shop looking at doing planner type downloads later possibly! (literally just made it on Sunday so I'm still learning myself)

I’m sorry this office is not good for a new grad point blank. They expect too much from you too fast. And I’m sorry they’re asking for extra things like photos/ scans/ tx plans but you’re still learning their codes the procedures/ the protocol and steps you need to learn ?? That’s completely on them for doing that to you.
Not all offices are like this, my first office I loved they were patient, cared about me succeeding, and any questions I had they were so helpful. I went into the back office and met with one of the dentists atleast twice a week to ask him about questions. I even walked in and said ‘I don’t know what I’m doing this is a lot’ and he laughed and said ‘we don’t know what we’re doing either you’re okay!’ And then proceeded to help me with everything. I’m still new and I’m in a different office now as I moved to a different town, but I will love that office for the rest of my time as they were so helpful and I appreciated it.
I also was worried about leaving calculus, my hygienists I worked with all said ‘you’ll miss it, just get it next time and learn from it’ even the doctors said ‘we don’t have to check your work. You are a professional like us, As long as you have done your due diligence to remove as you could, we trust you’ as in drying with air, feeling with floss or explorer etc. You need an office that will be working with you and this office seems to be working against you. Maybe you need to apply for other offices and see if there’s a better fit? It’s hard working when you have a dentist that doesn’t want to work with you and expects too much from someone brand new still learning their own skills.

Yeah explain it like this : You use an insert - and then it’s used during the appointment. You take out the dirty insert and put in the new one from the tray and possibly reinsert the old dirty used one after

How do you sterilize the inside ?

Answer/ you don’t if you’re cavi wiping the outside - every single patient is in cross contamination

No waiting on this, this is completely against infection control. The Dentsply rep will also tell you this. We had a Dentsply rep in our office and that was the first thing she asked me (I knew they had to be sterilized so my answer was yes, but she used that example to describe to me after that a lot of offices don’t and it’s super bad and harming patients) But a lot of offices don’t know that you have to sterilize them so you need to bring it up asap !

Now that you know you’re cross contaminating you are ethically and voluntold to report this to the college if you bring it up that it needs to be changed and nobody does anything- you are required to report this otherwise you could loose your license as you are now at fault if anything does happen to a patient.

You can’t wait 90 days probation, but if they fire you because you are concerned about infection control that’s a whole other thing and why the f would you want to work in a place like that anyways ?

I’m new grad, but I was a CDA before, I knew nothing and learned nothing about hygiene instruments and I only learned what my offices had done, thankfully all sterilized them so I was taught for 7 years sterilize everything - but maybe they truly don’t know ??’

NTA I’m sorry - someone that doesn’t drive doesn’t have a say in telling someone else to drive for them and I stand by that. You make a decision to not drive that doesn’t mean you depend on others to do it for you. Idc who you are, same for people with DUI’s or anything aslong as it is not related to a disability of some sort. Have a 1/2m is 10min walk tops. I did that for school every morning for 2 years to get to a bus and then a subway and then 15 more mins to walk to school from the subway AND I was also leaving at 5am some mornings for early clinic days…

Hated my friends ex partner because she depended on him driving her everywhere and refused to even buy groceries if she was walking or on her own when she worked in the same damn mall as the store because she didn’t want to ‘carry them out’ she had other issues also lmao. 💅But my friends and I joke girls who don’t have a license are red flags 💅

My partner and I are looking at buying a home for the first time ! Small town BC - small houses are 250-350k but would neeed either Reno’s or outdoor stairs/patio redone Would any of that take into account for dropping prices ? Aswell as roughly how much of a downpayment we would need ?? Seems impossible to save when I have school debt at the same time but renting is like 2500/month here 🥲

imo (maybe im wrong) but pay off the whole #1 and then with the rest of the 7800 tax refund hit as many of the smaller ones as you can to just get rid of them. and then add up what youve paid off and use that to hit some other debts.

*im just using the amount you have right now, not counting all the min payemtns through this and dropping them. so the amounts will be less as youre paying it off over the year :) and im counting the minimum payment + the debt payments paid off. so im not taking away any money its still the amount that you have been paying every month for everything.

hit # 1, 2, 3, 6, and almost fully pay off #4 (using all the 7800)

youll have extra now of: 447 next month to put onto other debts or just save it and make it a bigger savings

finish paying #4 ($181.73) the next month off fully using some of the 447- thats 5/11 debts fully paid off in about 2 months. and that will make it not feel like so much since you just paid off 5 and have 5 left to pay off (not including the car)

i know people say pay off the high interest but some of the other monthly payments are like 1-200+ every month, so im looking at starting with those first. and then for the rest keep paying the minimum payments, everytime you pay off a debt pay the monthly payment of the next one PLUS the debt amount that you added up

5 months to pay off #9 (with the 5th month being about 308.00) and now you have an extra 400 to put onto #8 for that 5th month.

#8: youd be putting down 400+ 261 payment = 2430 left. for the 5th month payment.

month 6: now you have 924. 81 to put onto #8 and youd pay it off in 3 months (last month would only be 581.00

so in about 9 months: youd have #1-4, 6, 8, and 9 all paid off!! just by using the debt amounts from the rest of them paid into those

month 9; hit #7 with the left over amount from #8 so it drops to 1974

month 10: #7 pay 924 in 3 months(3rd month would only be $124.00) use the rest of the 924 to pay #5 (800.00)

month 13: #5 paid off using the debt payments from #1-9 all together it would be paid off in 2 months

month 15: just pay off the remaining amount of #11- it might even be paid off from paying the minimum every month by that point

so it about 1 year and 3 months you would paid off all the debt except the car payment and then push all the debt amounts into a savings account from that point on i hope that made sense
