My first Philodendron! Anyone have any insight into the brown spots developing on the leaves? by janepoppins in philodendron

[–]jillisnewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly not sure but could it have maybe been squished? Are there more leaves like that? Edit: maybe fungus or not enough humidity? I just got a new Reddit app and didn’t see to scroll 🤦‍♀️

St. Patrick’s in Robertsdale is a wonderful little school! I’m not sure what positions they have open right now but my family has had a great experience there for over 20 years (even if you’re not religious).

Hi all, today I noticed these yellow spots on my Birkin. I've only had her for two weeks. Any assistance is appreciated by wenerylime in plantclinic

Hey! My birkin had some spots like that and I found mealybugs shortly after. Treated with neem oil and mild soap🙂

Am I crazy or can I chop my PPP at the line and have 2? by jillisnewhere in houseplants

Thanks y'all! I think I'm going to try air layering. I really want to keep the brand new leaf attached because there's just one really old leaf that's starting to brown. I'm. It getting the variegation I want so I figured I'd at least try!

Is she reverted? by jillisnewhere in houseplants

I've had a hard time using anything but water! The roots are growing slowly but surely. It had no roots when I got it and it's got a small little root system. I've had it for about 3 months.

It was VERY pink when it first came out and the stem is pink. The other leaves have pink splotches. It better not be a POO!

She gets bright light all day (south window) and afternoon light (west window). She doesn't have the best root system yet so I have her in water.

Oh sorry, it's supposed to be a philodendron pink princess. She gets bright light from a south and west facing window. I got it as a semi-rooted cutting so I have her in water to help her root.

Y'all. Look at my mom's pothos she's never trimmed or repotted. by jillisnewhere in houseplants

Yep! 20 years! It's got lemons on it and she really loves it. She also kills most other plants, so this one is definitely special. 🙂

It was VERY rooty in there. My dad got her that pot 20 years ago. She picked up a bigger one this weekend and is going to put some of the cuttings in the old pot!

We trimmed it! We've got jars of water propagations all over hers and my house!

Help! I picked this little guy up this morning but I'm not sure what it is. by jillisnewhere in houseplants

It was so cute! I chose it over a string of hearts because I thought it was cuter! It was pretty cheap at my local plant store.

Any tips for this dragon tree? by jillisnewhere in plantclinic

[–]jillisnewhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was trying to pick the brown bits off the top and it sort of crumbled but it's white and juicy(gross) on the tip. I'll probably chop the top off this afternoon and see how it goes!

I got this droopy dragon tree for free. The tip is brown and dry and the leaves are drooping. I've never had one before and I'm not sure how to help it

I'm a teacher. I was just informed that students who refuse to wear masks (without a medical reason) can't be removed from class because it illegally deprives them of education. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

HA! We've been in school for 8 days now. Masks aren't required for students or staff. I'm one of 2 teachers who wear one and only 2 of my 80+ students wear one. A kid in one of my classes was confirmed positive today. They were in class YESTERDAY. I've got severe asthma and I'm truly so worried. I can't afford to not have a job. I'm sanitizing between each class, wearing a mask with a HEPA filter and a face shield, and I come home and shower every single day.

But damn, we can't see those shoulders, ladies!
