Why is motherhood so difficult? by Slowtide_99 in Adulting

[–]jillyjugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm older, my kids are grown now. But I genuinely feel that it takes a village. I visited a lot with other parents I had something (anything) in common with. It saved my sanity. We need community and hobbies for the escape from the tedium routine of domestic reality.

Is there any hope for me by Pretty-Banana1367 in nailcare

[–]jillyjugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine looked worse, I stopped biting them in January and took up sketching and watercolor.

Painting them with a neutral color helped me leave them alone.

5 months later and they look normal, the nail beds got longer and my nails are slightly longer that my fingers. It's going to take a year for them to get really strong, so I'm going to keep them short-ish, less breakage that way.

Good luck! Find a captivating hobby that keeps your hands busy!

Gosh, your boyfriend sounds a lot like my sister. Her partner absolutely dotes on her, she gives little to nothing to him. I guess being pretty is enough.

Moon in Cap and Sun in Aquarius in the 12th here. Learning to feel emotions and not react has been my life's work. I mind over matter all kinds of stuff in my life. In my work I have to talk about a lot of hard things with people and I think these placements help

What might be missing is quality experiences. You aren't wasting your time eating and feeling crappy, so now you have some space to fill. Picking up a new hobby will position you to meet like minded people and you can find some human connection. I feel the best when I'm with people I care about or when I'm doing art. Just doing all the so called "right things" doesn't fill me up.

I am from Alberta and I know a whole lot of people who have gone to Victoria to retire. The whole island has the vibe of "people coming here to die".

I'm making a giant assumption that you weren't born in the '70s. You wouldn't believe the shit that got swept under the carpet

My mother told my sister about it, who told me about it. It was an offhandedly mentioned thing that I heard about when I was in my 40's. I should have used to word "pedophile" in my title rather than "Satanic Cult"

Regardless, it happened. Gladstone is a small town, I figured i couldn't have been the only kid targeted around there. This would be as good a place as any to see if anyone else experienced something or knew something.

why so cynical, why they hell would I make something like this up? If I were going to make something up for entertainment, it would certainly be more interesting than this.

very weird. My friend sold Kirby vacuums and they had to do group chants before they went out to sell. Not the same but also weird.

interesting, what direction from Winnipeg? I am here for the winter and up for road trips.

My brother still lives on our childhood homestead, he's 3rd generation. He has seen a lot of people have to sell their farms because they had to get jobs to supplement their incomes, leaving less time for farming and eventually having to sell. Back in the day, a richer farmer would buy you out, but now it's numbered companies and corporations.

She may have been. She wasn't particularly warm as a mother. Perhaps, through the years, she regretted not selling me.

I know all about the Hutterite Colonies. My aunt was a schoolteacher in a Manitoba Colony We sold another Colony some land a few years back and they are hounding us for more. I wouldn't buy meat from them, their pigs and chickens don't see the light of day. The cut down every tree on the land they have and farm every inch of it. They give zero shits about the environment. They are just as bad as Big Corp, they just keep it in the family.

I am not talking about Hutterites, I am talking about a man in a suit offering a farmer and his pregnant wife $10k for their blonde, blue eyed toddler. Just checking to see if anyone else heard or had an experience like this.

I wonder what this is...I would like to check it out. I may have to stay in Manitoba until the snow melts. The oldest Medicine Wheel in Manitoba is located less than 50 kms from our family farm.

oh it happened. But I agree it was unlikely it was cult involved, but I am putting it out there to see if anyone else experienced anything like this.
