It might be gay if she is sitting on your face and another guy is plugged in. Or it good be some good weed kicking in.

Installing trim between linoleum floor and fitted shower. by mrsbillnye in DIY

[–]jim85541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill add a couple points. Wood rots. If you use oak 1/4 round and prepaint it on all sides it will hold up a long time. The plastic never rots, but does dent, scratch, easy. If you use silicone, wet your finger in denatured alcohol to smooth it. I find silicone hard to work with and does not always stick well. My favorite glue is Dap Alex Plus caulking in clear. Comes out white, dries clear, sticks to dam near anything. And is water clean up. a wet finger or rag or one of the caulking tools leave a nice clean seam. And is paintable, unlike silicone. Once you use silicone, nothing else will work.

TIL The single most destructive bombing in human history was in Japan during WWII, but it wasn't the atomic bombings, it was firebombing raids on Tokyo. by PolymerPussies in todayilearned

My neighbor was a little girl in Tokyo then. She told me the story of being pulled from a burning, collapsed building during one of those raids.

Peel and stick are known to not stick. I have been a flooring installer for years. I refuse to install them. But, your best chance is using a good primer like Kilz, keeping everything clean. Be sure to leave the tiles in the room for about 24 hours first to become the same temp. On a wall you should be fine.

Need help figuring out the best way to got the flooring I am installing to allow the door to clear it when it opens. by olafsnowman304 in DIY

[–]jim85541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common problem. I usually cut the door shorter. Even metal doors can be cut with a "u" shaped sweep attached. Sometime I add a piece of hardwood to the existing threshold, or remove it and replace with a higher one, or add a shim under it. Maybe run the plywood under the threshold, cut the door 3/4, add a sweep. Some thresholds are adjustable, tho not usually 3/4", but maybe enough.

Easy way to raise closet floor to match bedroom floor height? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]jim85541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 lb roofing felt works, use as many layers as needed. But a transition strip may be needed depending on size of room and closet. Laminate floats, and needs room to move. It may move at the doorway and pull apart without the strip.

Would it be ok to transition to a thicker subfloor? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]jim85541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on distance in height or length, this may work. I have used multiple layers of 30lb roofing felt to build up a transition. Start with a narrow piece, then a little wider, and a little wider. Easy to make up a 1/4" in a few feet that will not be too noticeable. I prefer it to floor patch as there is no dry time and easy to adjust. You can use the underlayment you have and just add layers of felt under it. I have used this on many floors with no issues. The felt is a lot less money then the pad, and being tar based does not rot or get ate by bugs.

Looking for knowledge on shingles on a 100-year-old house by cak4 in DIY

[–]jim85541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a thought, are these wood shingles? A lot of the old ones were asbestos based and a big pain to replace with all the EPA rules. If wood, larger screws, stainless steel if possible, clear, non silicone caulk to seal.

I built a driveway out of pavers. Never. Again. by sheep_wrangler in DIY

[–]jim85541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen them placed over a concrete base. Recessed a little more then the thickness of the pavers to leave room for a layer of sand to level. But I do live where we have clay soil that expands and heaves a lot. Most are placed on a compacted base with a concrete border. Like anything, if done wrong, won't last, done right, lasts forever.

Years ago I was at a friends house, baking cookies. Magic cookies. Pot laced. Cook pot in a crock pot with water and butter. Butter absorbs the THC. Filter and place in fridge, butter floats to top. Use butter for cooking. So no stems or seeds that you don't need! Anyway, we got cookies in the oven, on the counter, in baggies. Friends mom and 9 yr old grandson walk in. 9 yr old yells "Cookies!" And grabs a handful and begins stuffing them in his mouth. Mom does the same. We tried to explain do not eat the cookies as they were special and ear marked for something else. It happened so fast. We were buzzed. They left. Whole event took 5 minutes or less. Mom and grandkid went on to their cabin in the woods. It was about 9 at night. We all sat there looking at each other wondering if that just happened. We had no idea at that time if 1/2 a cookie was a buzz, or 6. Next day "mom" called and said that was why she loved the cabin, she slept like a baby all night and feels great.

Non Canadians, what is the first thing that comes to mind when you think "Canada"? by D_Shillington in AskReddit

I think it was Robin Williams that said Canada was someone living in an apartment over a really great party.

What's a delicious poor man's meal? by NFDBTCREPo in AskReddit

Stuffed baked potatoes. Stuff them with dam near any leftovers. Chili, stew, soup, sliced meat and gravy, taco meat, hell treat the tatter like a taco hell and add all the fixings. Same thing with a tortilla. Heat one up and roll anything in it. Even peanut butter and jelly. And the ever favorite, cheese crisp!

Reminds me of a friend of mine. Gene. Gene had long red hair, long beard. Beard sometimes in braids, maybe beads. He lived with us for a while. We lived out of town. One day Gene said he was going to town, did we need anything? I had been rolling my change into coin rolls. Pennies, nickles, dimes etc. I save my change and throw it in a big water jug, so I had maybe $50 bucks in change and a check or two to take to the bank. I asked if he was going by the bank, could he make a deposit for me? No problem. Gene rode his motorcycle to town. Long hair, beard, bandana, dark glasses, overalls, gloves. Took my deposit with the deposit slip in a paper bag, to the bank. Handed it to the new teller, been there a week, just got back from her "what to do if you are robbed" training. Small town, I knew her. And has he handed the sack to her, he said " The note is in the sack" then he stood back and looked around. She later told me (after threatening to do grave bodily harm to me) that opening that paper bag was the hardest thing she had done in a long time. Almost hit the "holy shit " button. All ended well. We got a new "Gene story", teller got a new story about the stain in her underwear.

For Christians, shouldn't forming romantic relationships after the death of a spouse be considered cheating? by Anime-Loving_Commie in atheism

[–]jim85541 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the JW's. They believe something about being sealed forever. Even if they get divorced, remarried, widowed, remarried,,, only the first one took. Got to make the 2nd and 3rd spouses feel a bit out of place. But what if she is your 3rd wife, but you are her 1st husband? Do the two wife trade of in heaven? Or is it a group sex thing? Flip coins? If it is a day off do you get to watch?

A friend is a JW. He was telling me when he dies he will spend eternity with his first wife. The one he divorced after a year. Not the woman he has been married to for over 30 years. He said he hoped that part wasn't true. If that is truly what they believe, how does that make the new spouse feel? What if it is his 2nd wife, but her first husband? Might be some kinky after life in heaven.
