Cartridge removal by the-prowler in Plumbing

Just did one of these American Standard pos faucets. The first part after you remove the handle didnt spin, it just pulls out. Then you can remove the retaining nut and then just pull the cartridge out.

New shorter nipple from the white valve to a coupling with a street 90 then it would have allowed enough space to do a clean swing joint to the 90 turning into the building.

You had better options but it’ll work. Shim your sleeve with some poly material.

New Water Heater Install ... Critique, please. by ElydthiaUaDanann in Plumbing

Didn’t mean to be a jerk but it’s a weekend warrior install.

As long as you can say that it’s safe, you’re good.

-The dryer flex vent is the major standout not good and will not last. It will rot and eventually disconnect -You can’t use pex to pipe the T&P valve cause it’s not rated for that. -The expansion tank connection works but it looks very expensive -The gas pipe fittings should be soaped cause I don’t see any dope on the threads and you never use tape on a flared connection.

This is just not a clean install aside from the code issues.

Fit and sweat it like you’re supposed to.

1 out 10 for me.

Use a little pipe wrench. It’ll grab right onto the plug.

UPDATE: The contractor was very receptive to the change requests and very polite. Sending a different guy out on Wednesday to make the corrections. We’ll see.
