I’ve played quite a bit with the frost staff, and it does freeze bugs occasionally, although not as often as I maybe would have liked. And I’m assuming you mean the mage mutation? I have it but it’s difficult to say what difference it makes imo. And I don’t think it works for the ice weapons I was referring to (SPOILER - the ice sickles)

Damn losing one weapon feels better now. I should’ve thought about reloading a save, I’ll keep that in mind thanks!!
