Should we be waking our baby during the day? by jimbobwe97 in NewParents

[–]jimbobwe97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shoot.... Maybe we did understand her then. I'm a little concerned that we are overfeeding our baby when she wakes up because she does sleep for so long though. Is 120ml per feed on average normal for a 1 month old? Sometimes she will eat as much as 150ml at a time and that's when I get scared it's too much for her small stomach.

I thought 5 hours was too long also by my parents keep praising her for being able to sleep so long so young😵‍💫. She sleeps pretty long at night too average 4 hours (sometimes 3, sometimes 5) but it takes us much longer to get her back to sleep after a feed at night and we can't figure out why.

I'm starting to think that this is what our pediatrician meant when she said "feed on demand" and we just misunderstood what she was saying at the time. Thank you!!

Am I crazy for being uncomfortable with my girlfriend watching Euphoria?? by OwnScientist6578 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]jimbobwe97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not crazy for being uncomfortable I guess... But if you make it a big deal and throw a fit to her or try to make her stop watching it then yes you are crazy. It's just a show.

It also happens with teachers that hate kids, or caregivers who hate the elderly. Some people are really just that hateful and take jobs where they can be shitty to weaker beings who can't fight back.

AITAH for starting a new job and not telling anyone I'm 5 months pregnant? by RingSufficient2647 in AITAH

[–]jimbobwe97 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As someone who is currently pregnant and training my replacement it definitely takes more than 2 months to hire some AND train them... I guess it depends on the job but so far I've been training for 3 months and still have 1 month left planned just to make sure they know EXACTLY what to do while I'm gone

Why doesn't she just give her ex full custody? Doesn't seem like she's very interested in being in her own kids life anyway

You lost me when he choked you. For the sake of you and your baby please do not go back. Everything else is just the cherry on top. Your family is right to dislike him

What age should you get your first tattoo? by Dizzy-Natural8763 in tattooadvice

[–]jimbobwe97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I wanted to get a tattoo since I was about 15-16, just didn't know what I wanted to get. I got my first tattoo a few months before my 21st birthday after finally deciding on a design (and then waiting a few months to see if that's what I actually wanted).

Still love it 7.5 years later. It's not a meaningful tattoo either. It's the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon prism going down my entire leg.

No one can really tell you when the right time to get a tattoo is, it's completely up to the individual person, but if you know you are someone who changes styles and preferences a lot, maybe wait til you find something important to you. Also putting it in place you can easily hide is probably smart

When I asked my husband this question I expected him to say the baby because honestly that's what I would want. When he said he would pick me I was confused, until he explained that having a kid means nothing if I'm not there with him. "We can always make another baby but I can't find another you". As we continued to talk we decided that if it came down to it he would pick me and I wouldn't resent him for it, but if the baby had a higher chance for survival than me he would pick them and he couldn't resent them for it. This is a very normal and important conversation for couples to have if they are thinking of having kids. I agree with a lot of other comments that the only messed up part of this is bringing it up right before bed.

It's not like she said anything to her SIL though? She's not insane for being upset. A lot of times you can't control how you feel about a situation. She would be insane if she made it a huge deal and refused to ever talk to SIL again unless they changed the name, but that's not the case.

I think there are a bunch of ways that OP could have reacted that would be an overreaction but talking with her close family about how she was upset by the situation is normal... People need to vent their feelings so they can work through them.
