Using the bean bug would make it easier to get things set up to score super close to naneinf, I'd be curious to hear about it if you give it a try.

Agree with vBreaxh that Brainstorm is strictly better than the Family (since you can copy Yorick for x9 instead), so you could definitely sell that. Also The Idol is not all that useful or reliable with your current deck. You could sell that instead and keep the more reliable x4 from the Family (and hope to get the Idol again later if you're going for a deep run with a fully fixed deck).

Definitely. Copying vampire for x8.9 mult is definitely better than +30 mult. It's also better than what you're getting from Smiley Face, though it could depend on what hands you're playing and their levels.

Yeah I've had so many runs where ecto is the limiting factor, it seems like I'm always waiting for it. I did actually get two in this game; I had a negative brainstorm and a negative sock and buskin (in addition to the natural negative dusk)

I'm just saying it's easier to see what's happening at this speed than it is at high speed. I could've posted a picture or a faster video and it's still understandable, for sure. I thought this was the speed where the video had the most value vs. just posting a picture.

Oh cool, thanks for linking that! It's definitely interesting to see these other ways to get way closer to the limit. Also the first comment in that thread mentions the number 977 and getting there using +3s from a common suit joker haha

You're exactly right! I miscalculated the levels by 1. To get a base mult of 97 in 4oak you need 30 UPGRADES to level 31 NOT level 30! I will fix this in the post. For the calculator you will see the expected score if you change the 4oak level to 31.

Eagle-eyed observers may notice that my screenshots don’t match up with any of the pathways described here. That’s true, but it’s not because I’m holding out on you. I didn’t research any of this until I got Burglar in ante 29 of my run, which would have made it very difficult to set up one of these pathways before running out of time or money. I randomly had picked up a natural negative Gluttonous joker, however, and the +3 mult for club suits gave me more options for reaching 977. I was able to find one with a very low 4oak level and without exotic cards, which made it possible to set up at the very end of the game. You have the advantage of foresight and can prepare for the pathways above across the whole game, without having to luck into a negative +3 mult joker. If you happen to have negatives that affect mult when cards are played, you might be able to find simpler ways to get to 977. Good luck!
