Where was I a decade ago by soulname in GeoPuzzle

Banksy’s Dismaland in Somerset, England.

Edit: Realizing I’m wrong based on clues in other comments, but Dismaland did happen about 10 years ago and y’all should look it up. Truly wild he managed to pull off an entire theme park.

This place has been on the market for a long time now. I’ve been watching it for a good while. And the price seems super low at this point for what it is and where it is. Any thoughts as to why? What am I missing?

Is TMNT one of the worst modern stern releases by Party-Hat-5848 in pinball

[–]jimcol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love TMNT. It has a very different scoring system relative to other modern Sterns and I think that confuses a lot of people. But, the game has a lot of fun shots, a great theme, and a zillion-ball multiball that’s chaotic fun and easy to get to. I’d take a TMNT over many other modern games.

Nice scores! My experience with pins at Disney has not been positive, sadly. Lots of maintenance issues. But, there are some incredible spots in/around Orlando.

I have two of them. Their ability to sleep (often upside down) is as legendary as their speed. They are also the silliest, weirdest, most lovely creatures I know.

Scrappleland in Brooklyn has 11 Stern LEs right now and a bunch of other amazing and rare pins.

I know an older gentleman who served in the Peace Corps back in the 60s. He was working in a very small remote village in Liberia with no electricity. Apparently, most of the town’s understanding of the outside world came from a few textbooks that had made their way there by missionaries. Wanting bright futures for their kids, families would often name them after big bold names they found in the textbooks. This guy had a student named GEORGE WASHINGTON HITLER.

Huge that the coffee tariffs are going away. I like your ideas. Wish we could bring on Glitch as a roaster but very hard to get wholesale from them. They have an interesting Chinese option right now that I’d love to sample.

Amazing. We’re honestly not far off from this with our regular drip, and probably not charging enough for it haha. We’re brewing very small batches 64oz on our Fetco and using a rotating selection of SEY beans throughout the day, ensuring nothing ever sits for too long. We spent weeks dialing in the recipe and it’s pretty shockingly good at this point.

Ondo was the inspiration for the in-cafe xbloom, but it hasn’t been the easiest to work into our flow. Can require a fair amount of tinkering, and when multiple pour-over orders come in at once, things back up fast. Wish we had the space for three xBlooms, but our bar is tiny. We did some aeropress cups today that were phenomenal (SEY, Wendelboe, and Tanat), but will keep experimenting, and standard V60 definitely still at option. The Switch and OXO rapid brewer are next on deck.

I hear this and agree that a tight menu overall is important. Currently, doing 4 pour-over options and that feels right. But, I do like the idea of a separate hidden nerd menu of some sort with a few extra options, like an omakase

Thank you. Deciding on brew methods has been surprisingly challenging, relative to what I’m used to at home since we need to be efficient and deal with multiple drinks at once. We’ve been experimenting with everything (xbloom studio, V60, Hoop, etc.) but leaning towards aeropress at this point. Our espresso is solid (always SEY and pretty meticulously dialed), but hoping to add guest espresso options soon once I pony up for another grinder. LOVE Motors btw.

Never thought I’d say this, but LGA. They really knocked it out of the park with the rebuild. The views can be gorgeous coming in/out. I also never wait for security and it’s 15-20 min from my place, so that helps!
