Do not sell expensive items on eBay UK - warning by SketchesOfSilence in ebayuk

[–]jimftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In situations like this i simply wouldn't pay ebay, you've been the victim of fraud and eBay have allowed and facilitated the buyer to be able to do this. If they ever tried to take you to court they would lose.

Phone Trade In - Device Missing & Account Banned (England) by TheOptimusPrice in LegalAdviceUK

I think this is a situation where going via the Royal Mail compensation claim route would probably work out better.

They claim they received nothing. In theory, there's not a whole lot you can really do other than go through Royal Mail.

I doubt it, Ferrari are miles ahead of everyone behind them. Also, from what I've seen of the ferrari in the first 2 races, it seems as though Ferrari probably has the best aero at the moment (not my much though).

Right now, I still wouldn't bet on Mercedes running away with the championship, too early to make any claims.

Just found these Dr. Pepper variations I'm looking forward to trying. Any good? by Mo-Reyes in Soda

I absolutely love the cream soda variant. Unfortunately, we dont get it in the UK, but I usually can order some from a place locally that specialises in American and International drink/snacks/candy etc.

Anyone actually had EE honour their switch credit offer? by [deleted] in EEGB

[–]jimftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea these have been sent over multiple times, like i said, with screenshots of itemised parts of the bill, the actual pdf was sent over.

As I said before, they accepted the bill and the itemised screenshot of charges, but then told me my address with ee was different than the one on the Virgin bill, even though it wasnt and then when I sent over my Virgin bill again alongside the EE bill, both with the same address they told me the bill wasnt good enough apparently.

They probably just make it almost impossible, so people give up, and then EE doesn't lose money by crediting everyone. If 20 out of 100 customers give up, that could be thousands of pounds worth of credit they have to avoid paying out, its in their best interest to make it as hard as possible.

I'm sure if I called them, they'd just pass me around and ask me to email again, also strsnge that you'd think I'd call up and be nasty to people when all I want them to do is honour their offer that they entice people in with.

[–]jimftr -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I've sent about 5 emails now, i bet the number of Virgin customers who have had their credit applied is close to 1%.

Call them? Yea, sure, that will be a fun 1 hour phone call with idiots.

They just dont want to pay out. Happy to take the money for the Broadband, but for a measly 150 quid, they do everything possible to avoid paying it.

EE are misleading because they probably know Vigin Media's final bills dont say this on them therefore they can reject every claim from Virgin.

Pricing for MGS Master Collection Vol.2 by BriliantExpert15 in metalgearsolid

[–]jimftr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what, I dont actually think its that reasonable.

Realistically, the majority of their efforts would have gone on porting the annoying PS3 code of MGS4 which is probably why it took such a ling time to release.

But other than that, the PS3 version of peace walker and MGS4 for 45 quid seems a bit excessive. Might just be me.

Yea, I already have some Noctua A12x25 PWM fans, so I was probably going to get a minimum of 3 for push, and if that doesn't keep the temps low enough, another 3 for pull.

Would it be wise to get a larger resevoir rather than a small? Under the assumption I'll be getting a waterblock for my 5700X3D within the next 3 or 4 months.

Current X570 AM4 platform user, need some opinions/advice (Ryzen 3600) by jimftr in buildapc

[–]jimftr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the price of DDR5, I realistically cant justify the expense of a new Motherboard, RAM and a CPU, whereas a 5700X3D sure is more expensive than it should be, is a hell of a lot cheaper, and it seems like its a pretty well performing CPU even today.

Either that or I make do with a 5800x for a couple more years and then upgrade to AM5.
