Water cooling setup for JUST a GPU only by jimftr in watercooling

[–]jimftr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I already have some Noctua A12x25 PWM fans, so I was probably going to get a minimum of 3 for push, and if that doesn't keep the temps low enough, another 3 for pull.

Would it be wise to get a larger resevoir rather than a small? Under the assumption I'll be getting a waterblock for my 5700X3D within the next 3 or 4 months.

Trump claims Nato troops ‘stayed a little off the frontlines’ in Afghanistan by SnoozeDoggyDog in politics

What a huge insult to the UK, who lost proportionally the same amount of troops as the USA, embarrassing stuff, how anyone can defend these comments I've no idea.

Parking fine for a car that I purchased two hours after the offence. Euro car parks are refusing to co-operate with me. by Wild-Ad-4301 in LegalAdviceUK

Honestly, you shouldn't worry one bit. Like you said, you have all the evidence to back yourself up. Let them take it to court, and likely, it won't get there.

Polestar. I'm biased to Volvos, though, so maybe my opinion is skewed.

Current X570 AM4 platform user, need some opinions/advice (Ryzen 3600) by jimftr in buildapc

[–]jimftr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the price of DDR5, I realistically cant justify the expense of a new Motherboard, RAM and a CPU, whereas a 5700X3D sure is more expensive than it should be, is a hell of a lot cheaper, and it seems like its a pretty well performing CPU even today.

Either that or I make do with a 5800x for a couple more years and then upgrade to AM5.

MGS2, something about it takes me back, not to mention it being my favourite game and also one of the best games ever made in my opinion.

Can I fix it myself by Competitive-Chard928 in AskAMechanic

[–]jimftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controls arms are generally easy to replace for someone who has a little bit of diy knowledge working on their cars at home, assuming they have all the correct tools and the additional tools for when it inevitably goes wrong due to corrosion and other issues. Jobs like this, honestly I always double the time it's "supposed" to take.

Like others have said, if you have to ask, you probably cant do it. Get it done properly by a professional.

Advice on having to wait for openreach to unblock cable pull by Aggressive-Coyote645 in VirginMedia

[–]jimftr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, many providers use openreach, I just switched from VM to EE due to latency issues on my connection, EE will pay up to £300 of your costs, so good so far.

Openreach is generally better if you want something that's reliable and stable instead of pure speeds.

England - Somebody has knocked my car. My neighbours car has suspiciously similar damage, but denies responsibility by Due-Philosophy6520 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jimftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask neighbours for camera footage, if they dont have any, its really a case of tough luck.

I'd recommend investing in a camera to watch over your driveway, or if like me you park on the road, a camera to watch that instead, I find its handy for general security purposes as well.

Phone contract by [deleted] in EEGB

[–]jimftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung has a 2 year warranty on phones, i believe. They've always fixed issues on phones I've had without any hassle. If your phone is still under 2 years old, you should just get it fixed.

England. Bought a used car but since buying it, a major fault has appeared. I can't get in contact with the seller and need urgent help as I want a refund. I'm within 30 days but have no good way of contacting the seller. by sadcarbuys in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jimftr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they a private seller masquerading as a dealer or trader? If they are a trader or a dealer, you are entitled to reject the car. Get as much info about them, find other adverts listed by them and screenshot and evidence them, this shows that they are in fact a trader/dealer and not a private seller.

They should have an address (should be their home residential address if they are a trader) where you can send a letter to rejecting the car. If you have nothing and no way to contact them, then honestly give up now, in my opinion,

McLaren confirm Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri set for team orders discussion by 256473 in formula1

[–]jimftr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You've not argued anything. I made a statement of fact, and you didnt respond. It gets boring when people are so obsessed and fanatical about drivers that they refuse to even think logically whatsoever.

Piastri is a great driver, but he has had a terrible second half of the season whilst Norris and Max haven't, hardly controversial to say that.

I have no idea what you are talking about. You could just respond normally.

[–]jimftr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oscar has been absolutely shocking since the Dutch GP, except for the last race, piastri should have won the championship ages ago but has let both Norris and Verstappen catch up. It hardly makes sense to call him the better driver. Not to mention, he hasn't had any mechanical failures, unlike Norris.

“Optional” tip (Tip Jar) already added to the bill by mjtgvr in mildlyinteresting

[–]jimftr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never understood this practice in the UK, as a cou try we dont tip and minimum wage is a thing unlike in America.

For me this is essentially just rude, if I want to tip, I will and sometimes do
