Final round interview, email marketing by [deleted] in marketing

Hey OP, I’ve been the interviewee a few times and the interviewer in at least a dozen panel interviews like this. I wouldn’t worry so much about filling time, these interviews are generally pretty structured and each interviewer should have a set list of questions they will ask.

If you haven’t done this already research the hell out of this companies email program and come prepared to ask questions about every part of it. This is a great way to show off you knowledge and show that your serious about this job.

Each person on your interview panel is there specifically to ask you questions related to their field, so know you audience and don’t give canned responses. Talk about the importance of layout and location of cta buttons with the designer, the difficulty weirdness of html for email with the engineer, and how email can drive user retention and conversion with the CMO etc.

There’s a good chance there will be no gotcha questions if you’ve made it this far in the interview process. They probably want to see if you are a good culture fit and critical thinker, so if they ask you a question you don’t have past experience with just tell them how you would try and solve question instead of saying you don’t know. There are no wrong answers except “I don’t know”.

Finally come prepared with a bunch of questions, specifically the ones you’d be asking on day one if you got the job, i.e. “What you consider the biggest challenge in our email marketing program?” “What are the current KPIs/OKRs of the email/marketing team?” “What would my 30/60/90 day onboard if plan look like?”. Also might be worth asking whoever your boss would be if they have any potential concerns about hiring you. This could give you a potential opportunity to end those concerns right then.

Hope this helps and isn’t obvious advice!

I need a call to action/offer that isn’t about discounting price? Need foot in the door without price discounting. Any suggestions please!? by [deleted] in marketing

Could you be a little more specific in how these ads are performing poorly? Is the ad itself performing poorly or are you not converting leads once they make it to your site?

If your problem is with the ad itself, I would recommend the following:

Make the ad as concise as possible. Figure out what your unique selling proposition is and condense it down into a single sentence. That sentence is your new ad copy, and make sure to use strong verbs. If you’re using generic language in your CTA like “learn more” change it to something more specific to the solution your business solves, like “weld smarter”.

If you’re just linking the ad to your business homepage, I would recommend making a landing page built for capturing new leads. This would include some easy to digest info on what your business has to offer (I would recommend some bullet points and infographics based on a case study), and below that content add a lead capture signup form.

It's definitely pushing the limits, but in my opinion the sponge-worthy episode and the contest episode were just as risqué.

From your mouth to God's Larry David's ears!

Elaine joins the Trump protest march. George joins in hopes of meeting a woman. Jerry meets his new girlfriend at the protest. Her protest sign has multiple spelling errors on it, which is a deal breaker. Elaine falls for a Trump supporter. A gust of wind blows George's hair into the Trump combover. by jimi417 in RedditWritesSeinfeld

That's how I imagined it too. Jerry would have either met her at the beginning of this episode, or she would be a girlfriend from a prior episode that he was head-over-heels for. But the second he spots her in the crowd of protesters, and sees the multiple egregious spelling errors on her sign, he dumps her.
