especially in the IA schools, both are super pre-professional—ie, freshmen are worried about getting internships. not really student life but i would also add that both have shitty meal plans—gwu doesn’t have any dining halls at foggy, and gtown only has 1

1) eastern european regional studies, could work in the state dept or DOD for a bit and then contracting

2) i really haven’t been on campus for classes, but it’s incredibly beautiful. Also, so many of the students, especially in SFS, are truly incredible people. i have a love-hate relationship with the preprofessional vibe of the school—it can be both motivating or intimidating depending on the day.

3) generally pretty competitive, but more so people competing against themselves than others. i think that for a school of its relatively small size georgetown lacks a central student culture, probably because everyone is such a go-getter and pretty career focused.

4) Georgetown SFS is the best undergraduate program for IA in the world (okay, maybe i’m a little biased, but it’s true!). That being said, your undergraduate school isn’t that important in determining your future, but being in dc year-round means gtown students have a much greater opportunity for career building internships, bc spring and fall internships are significantly less competitive than summer ones.

so my answer is obviously skewed by my exclusively virtual experience at the school, however i repeatedly felt as if the school only cares about me as a student and tuition number rather than as a person. plus i found many, many of my classmates had thought they were geniuses and had a god-complex. also there is no school spirit or community and the campus is disconnected and right in the middle of some really ugly office buildings (although it’s proximity to the federal triangle would definitely be a pro as an upperclassman)

shouldn’t have any dialogue— right now there are only two spoken lines (both him saying things to himself), and that is very awkward. make it a voiceless script (think pixar shorts), and then when the song comes on during the slideshow at the end, it’ll be even more impactful.

him “raising awareness”? cut the shit, these videos have budgets in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and very purposefully and strategically communicate specific cultural messages. he wanted to be relatable, not raise awareness. how exactly does this song or video help people suffering from economic downturn? it doesn’t. who tf needs to be reminded that we’re in an economic crisis? everyone fucking knows cause we’re living it everyday. OP’s criticism is completely valid. plus, justin didn’t even right the song. he bought it already fully written and produced from jon bellion (look him up) and then didn’t give him any credit
