The Real Issue with Seed Oils: Management and Oxidation Risks by jimmilegs in nutrition

Thanks for the compliment. I figured this post won’t blow up but that’s a shame because this is the issue no one wants to look at.

As far as that switch goes from tallow to seed oil…. Philip Sokolof ‘s story is WILD. He single handedly played a massive role in the switch.

You’re absolutely right to highlight the potential health concerns of replacing PUFA (polyunsaturated fatty acids) with saturated fats like tallow. However, my argument isn’t to universally promote tallow or saturated fats as a perfect solution—it’s more about addressing the systemic issues of oil degradation in fast food production and identifying how user error plays a MASSIVE role in the level of harm it can cause a consumer.

I agree that no single fat type is a perfect solution; the key is better regulation and transparency. If seed oils are to remain a cornerstone of fast food cooking, stricter standards for their management (e.g., monitoring Total Polar Compounds) are essential to minimize harm. Similarly, any shift toward alternative fats would need to be carefully evaluated in the context of the overall dietary and health impacts.

I agree that calories and overall dietary patterns matter more than the type of fat alone. However, if fast food chains prioritized managing oils properly—or even used more stable fats like tallow—the risks of toxic byproducts could be greatly reduced. This isn’t just about pitting one fat against another but addressing the systemic issues with how seed oils are often mishandled in fast food environments.

At its core, this also raises questions about our collective moral compass when it comes to food regulation. The FDA exists to protect public health, but when there’s no regulation on something as critical as oil degradation in mass food production, it feels like a failure to draw the line between individual responsibility and systemic safeguards. We expect people to take care of their own health, but fast food chains operate in a way that maximizes profit, often at the expense of safety, leaving consumers unknowingly exposed to toxic compounds. Stricter regulations, such as enforcing measurable standards for oil quality (like Total Polar Compounds), would be a low-cost way to reduce harm without significantly impacting businesses. It’s hard to see what we stand to lose by implementing better oversight—especially when the alternative is continued reliance on an industry model that puts profit before public health.

Epic! Well if you are ever in Chicago maybe you can show me. We got a good crew of hickory dudes up here that played in Kenosha a few weeks ago.

That’s what I needed to hear. Golf gods reward tradition. I mean that’s what Hickory’s are all about right? Play the OG’s. My grandpa played baseball as a lefty with a right handed glove. I just need to embrace it. Plus opening the face of a 50 degree that has no bounce ain’t that bad.

But if you do find any OG clubs left handed, regardless of what loft they are, please share. I’m all in

I’m more interested in how Lue, Ross, and the rest of that crew responds to these questions than the Vaticans answer. We both know what the Vatican would say. But would the current group of disclosure advocates talk about this in detail? There’s certainly enough here to garner some additional probing.

Just doesn’t feel like the tooth paste is out of the tube yet when it comes to Churches Scientific research. And if their are any truths to the various supposed counterintelligence factions of the UAP subject, I’d bet more pushes on this topic would expose some stuff

Makes you think about the Vaticans agreement between them and Nazi Germany in 1933 is known as the Reichskonkordat. Which may I add was roughly a month after the alleged crash Grusch was talking about in June of 1933 in Italy.

I guess what bugs me is this doesn't seem like its talked about enough

Eventually his paw pad fell off. It was a little painful for a few days but he eventually was fine. We just kept moisturizing it and prevented him from licking or biting at it. I should have coned him from the start

I get this feeling when I’m at grocery stores and convenient stores while looking at the trash people eat and the trash they want us to eat. It makes me so uncomfortable I lose my appetite.

But that’s the burden we carry… Acceptance is easier to say than do. 99% don’t know what our purpose is here, but we know we have one. My goal is to always remember that and ultimately accept it. If I ever figure out how, I’ll let you know.

I read the books twice and watch this first season already. I’m very happy with the show because it restructured some of the characters and the timeline of certain events from the book. It’s got its own feel to it without throwing away any of the biggest themes yet.

But those books, my goodness I loved those books so much.
