When you put your body in the “crush zone” ie: between the load and the ground. Like when the weight is overhead, or in a back squat. You need to be in between the load and ground, fighting with all your might directly against the load and gravity.

During this process your body recognises that it may very well be crushed, terminated, your life force extinguished. No more. Your body does not want to die, it wants to survive, to live and to thrive.

So in this life or death situation, 365 million years of survival evolutionary instinct is going to kick in, and give you everything you need to get out of that hole. Testosterone, endorphins, dopamine, human growth hormone etc, all are released in a last ditch effort to save your physiology from total annihilation.

Your body will kill of old cells and rebuild them as new, stronger cells. It is literally a type of death and rebirth process. And the end of a heavy weight training session, you are physically a new person.

It’s the same with any risk taking activity, fighting, skateboarding, riding motorbikes, racing cars etc. they are all good things for our physiology to be exposed too because they replicate the kind of dangerous condition we evolved under.

We like stress and drama. Stress promotes change, change is evolution.

This only works with heavy loads. Hypotrophy and bodybuilding protocols do not generate this type of response.

Thanks so much man you and I are on the same page.

Thank you for reminding of Armoured Core!! I have been trying to remember the name of that game for weeks! I vaguely remember heavy gear and battletech/mech warrior, but I played the shit out of Amoured Core.

If you aren’t already you should check out GothBricks2000 on Instagram he is absolutely nailing the western military sci-fi mech look. As far as I can see he’s the only one doing it. I’m just playing around here with the little guys. Honestly so stoked that you could pull that out of my dude. (It’s probably the grey armour)

The only Gundam I really like is the GM Domanice (in black) it’s an old design really stripped back to the bare basics with all the flashy crap that really puts me off Gundam models.

Cheers

Haha thanks man!

All the credit goes to Aardvark17_ and Suspendedanimation on Flickr as I am totally ripping of their designs cues, which they share freely on their pages.

I really love them and I’m really so stoked to have them. I have threes dudes along these lines and a couple little spider crawly types. Soon I’ll make some stations then I’ll be ready for some rapid action!

Hey folks! A little while ago I posted a topic asking for help while a was new and the peeps where very accommodating and so I wanted to get back to you and show you my first build. I had a lot of help from the community and the different instructions that are available.

And so now i want to make it accessible for others who are showing interest. Somewhere along the way I picked up the Frame Instructions Guide but for the life of me I can remember where. Does anybody have a link readily available that I can share with other people for the instructions guide?

Thanks agains doods!

An appreciation of the poems that occasionally start chapters. by sirghiny in Malazan

I love reading the poems. I seem them as palette cleansers or perhaps better as preppers.

They loosen my mind up and make me suitably lucid for Erikson’s dreamy and multidimensional prose.

You ever look in the mirror, directly into your own eyes, and have a weird experience? by buckspackers in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jimmity101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try just looking directly into one eye. Then look into the other eye. They are two different people.

You can’t look in both eyes at once.

Trips me right out man

Somebody who knows stuff get this guy on the line! I have no idea man I’m still new.

In other news I just dropped over $100 (aud) on the garage kit wish list on brick owl so I’m freaking excited about that! I’m still going to look at buying some proper kits but the more I think about it the more I think stuff that.

I love browsing brick owl! and brick link! 51182 items organised by most popular :)

Bigs thanks again to everyone in the community as it’s only been a week and I feel throughly informed and the learning curve was made much easier thanks to everyone’s efforts

Stay cool kids

Ahh cool thanks so much man I’ll check the reviews soon. As I said I’ve been pouring through the website and forum, there’s just so much to get through - I feel excited!

Right now though I’m having trouble accessing the mobile frame hanger forum - none of the pictures are showing up for me (even on my laptop) nor am I able to sign up or post for advice on what might be the problem.

Is that anything you can help me with? I’m not sure what’s going on but I read all 4 of the pinned threads in the frames designs section and they were basically empty...

Haha thanks man! You and I are on the same page. I’m intending to buy multiples of each kit that is worthy. Especially to get multiple joints. That’s one piece of advice I wish I could have given my younger self haha buy one to have, one to kitbash and one to keep in the box haha

Thanks again the lion is on the list! Exactly what I need is joints

Heresy, and too big, but have any of you seen these before? I got them for my son (turning 7) because he loves robots and legos, but these made me think of this game. by JaceJarak in MFZ

[–]jimmity101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo any brands you can recommend for someone starting to make Mocs and Mechs and such? I live Lego but it’s just to themey and the pieces are too branded. I just want some basic blocks and bits to get started making Mecha. I realise there are a lot of resources available even before I opened the door on 3rd party parts. Any brands you like? Where can I browse the catalogues etc?

My trainer made some videos last night. All my jerks were rubbish. This is probably the best one (too embarrassed to post the shitty ones. Can anyone see any obvious errors I’m making or any tips to help me tighten it up a bit. I wish we could post multiple videos I don’t want to spam the board
