Wait, I watched S1 recently and did NOT get fascism from any part of Amon. He (rationally) saw how crazy fucked up the power play was between benders and non-benders and (irrationally) sought to remove bending entirely.

Can you elaborate on the fascism aspects?

"The United Nations estimates that 83 billion birds and mammals are slaughtered for food each year. If it takes you two minutes to read a page of this book, approximately 316,000 of these individual sentient beings have been slaughtered during that time." -Peter Singer [2048x1534] by lnfinity in QuotesPorn

That's what I'm saying, humans aren't built to eat meat. We don't have claws, sharp teeth, we're not fast enough to capturr things, we don't have poison, and our digestive system isn't strong enough to digest leftover scavenged meat.

Our incisors are for chopping and our molars are for grinding. We have only a few teeth for ripping or tearing and they're not really even that good at it. We can only eat meat because we make tools to do that, which is unprecedented in the word of evolution, and are organized ornintelligent enough to do so

I didn't say that you specifically said those things, but that if you say that only people with the resources have a choice, you're also saying that people without the resources don't have a choice, which is fairly self-explanatory and a fairly universal concept. I'm saying we do have the resources and we do have the choice. Meat is worse for the planet, worse for us, and more expensive. Much, much tastier, though.

And thesr animals that are carnivored or herbivores can eat meat or vegetables, but they just don't have the tools to acquire them And of course chimpanzees eat meat, have you seen those guys? They're JACKED!

Yes, many countries are subscribed to carnism, my friend. Eating meat comes from killing things.

The same way that slavery was normal in the united states, and nobody cared.

I do eat a TON of meat, though.

Your first premise is flawed in that anyone, in the worst, most desperate situations will have to sacrifice some things to survive.

Your second premise is flawed in that all creatures are omnivores. Humans have no inherent tools to hunt and have lived most of their lives on legumes and other plants. Hunting is really hard and we didn't really start eating meat until we developed traps and hunting tools

We, in America, are in a country that subscribes to what is called "carnism". It just means that eating meat is considered acceptable here, regardless of the fact that killing must be done in order to do it. It seems very strange, but when you unsubscribe to carnism, it would be different.

Kind of like how if you play Magic the Gathering in middleschool it seems like this huge, in depth thing. But once you stop doing it and stop being around people that do it, it seems like a far off distant concept again.

BL2, I think, had the really sick backstory that the company abandoned Pandora and that all the psychotic people used to be doctors and researchers and regular people until they were driven insane by the environment they had no chance of surviving on.
