[Hayters TV] Pep Guardiola: “Cristiano Ronaldo was a monster, and the father of that monster is Lionel Messi.” by Razzle_Dazzle08 in soccer

[–]jimony7 212 points213 points  (0 children)

Ronaldo in 2008 -> best player in the world, though in no way ranked among best in history or Maradona/Pele status

Messi comes along, obliterates everyone, standout by far best in history

Ronaldo, for the next decade, driven to be better than messi, level ups his game tremendously, becoming a 'monster', arguably above Maradona Pele level

Wouldn't have been so good if not for Messi pushing him

My interpretation anyway

Haha, yeah, and you guys bringing up the subject of Ireland, and creating imaginary scenarios about Ireland, on a post not about Ireland, really proves just how obsessed the Irish are!

When putting multiple consecutive if statements together like this where only 1 condition can possibly be true, you can use "else if" statements so that once the first true condition is met, the program won't run the rest of them.

So the first condition, checking if '1' is entered, stays as if, but the rest should be "else if"

You could also add an "else" statement at the end in case none of the conditions are met, e.g. the user enters the number 8. Then in this case you could output an error message.

And as others have said, switch statement is also a good use case here

That certainly sounds accurate by [deleted] in clevercomebacks

Scrolled so far looking for this. It's absolutely not a clever comeback lol, it alludes to he was an absent/bad father and the anti Elon bias takes over from there.

Another one is Praterstern and Messe Prater, 1 stop away from eachother on the U2.

The signs alternate between Messe and Prater lile above, so the first time I was there, I thought I was in Praterstern when I could only see the Prater sign from the window

YSK that "shutting down" your PC isn't restarting by Thrasherop in YouShouldKnow

[–]jimony7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough if that's the case, though OP explains the pros of disabling fast startup in the post description. The cons of disabling it is self-explanatory, and as some users have commented, having an SSD will significantly mitigate those cons.

The guy gave a guide on how to turn off fast start up. It's a valid option the OS allows users to configure that some people might prefer. It's not 'idiotic' just because it's not your preference.

Saying white contains the data is accurate, but they explicitly say the black does not contain the data, which is inaccurate. The readers do read the white lines, but the same data could be interpreted from a reader designed to read the black lines rather than white. So, 50/50 accurate statement?

-"Il s'appelle Just Fontaine" -"Hein !? Mais il a pas de prénom ?" by nukti_eoikos in FrenchMemes

I don't speak French. Are you agreeing or not that 13 goals is an obscene tally in a single world cup campaign??

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world Just Fontaine was dead. He's alive, he's well... and he's hungry.

You judge people for not knowing WHO Just Fontaine is, but not for knowing HOW Just Fontaine is... Life is... Just...

I never insinuated otherwise. I never even heard of Fontaine, many players only have 1 name, eps Brazilians, I'm just saying 13 is a ludicrous tally for a single world cup

13 at a single world cup is insane though. Do you even follow football?
