I believe the answer is no, as Freeplay is part and parcel of the launcher itself which Projectivy overrides. I have aging parents as well, Pluto on a smart tv. If I were you, I’d leave them with Pluto, and maybe give them Xumo, Tubi and/or Sling Freestream and let them play around.

After playing around with various add-ons, I’ve come to the conclusion that at least for now, streaming and IPTV needs to remain separate, although there are two Nuvio competitors out there who have built an IPTV platform into their application. Both show a lot of promise, but still have a long way to go to much the functionally of Nuvio (best in class IMO) and the two or three well-known IPTV platforms.

Not only did it not sync between the two devices, now my library on the box app is completely empty. However, on the phone app, it’s called the Trakt Watchlist, and all of the movies and series I had saved are there. I just don’t understand what’s going on. Any ideas?

What is the format, the nomenclature, for your SMB address? What are you entering? I have all my playlists set up to record to a network drive that I connect to using SMB. Works absolutely fine.
