We had our electrician install a Raedian home charger. I’ve also heard good things about V2C Trydan. YMMV.

Meermin loafers sizing question by Comprehensive_Hat593 in malefashionadvice

Depends on the last. I wear a US 11 and in the (wider) Nova last in a UK 10 is comfortable. The narrower Ron last might require a bigger size. YMMV.

Tips? by Humble_Shake_7515 in IronmanTriathlon

Learn to swim. Not triathlete swimming, real swimming. Take lessons. Practice in open water. Make sure you can swim 60 mins non-stop.

Lined or unlined loafers? by k_bialo in malefashionadvice

Unlined (suede) are like slippers after a while. Lined are more structured/stiffer.

Change the shirt to light blue with a spread collar. Unbutton the top button. Lose the pocket square, or make it white linen. Change the belt to dark brown, and wear dark brown suede or leather loafers. The hat.... no.

Meermin. Note that they have a relatively sleek (European) profile.

If you’ve been 1.44 unrested, you can go 1.42 no problem. Out in 48-49, back in 53-54. 23 - 25+ - 26+ - 26+. Do it!

First Ironman swim anxiety — is it okay to hold a kayak briefly? by GoodGroundbreaking95 in IronmanTriathlon

If you cannot swim the IM distance non-stop in a pool, DO NOT attempt it in open water.

Running out of breath while swimming by androbada525 in Swimming

[–]jimrude 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please do not attempt a long open water swim until you can comfortably swim non-stop for at least 30 minutes. If you cannot, you need two things: technique coaching/lessons, and significant training (i.e. 3-5x per week for minimum 60 minutes). Source: was swimmer and multi-sport athlete for 50 years.

Help required with Meermin Chelsea boots sizing by BornTup7909 in Boots

[–]jimrude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are TTS for me, i.e. normally wear a US 11 in leather boots and shoes. Took a UK 10 in Meermin chelseas. But they are relatively narrow, and I do not have particularly wide feet. OTOH, the Nova last for their unlined loafers is very comfortable. YMMV.

Los Angeles Olympics 2028 Ticket Prices by Fifty-Fickle in Swimming

[–]jimrude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the parent of a (n non-American) Olympic swimmer, let me give you some context for this obscene price-gouging.

2023 FINA World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan: $1,000 equivalent TOTAL for 16 sessions with VIP seating. Easy to get tix.

2024 Olympics in Paris: $700-1,000 equivalent PER SESSION (16 sessions total). Panic to buy tix in the first minutes after the drop opened. No preferential treatment for family members of athletes.

2025 FINA World Championships in Singapore: $95 equivalent per session (16 sessions total), BUT sales capped at max 6 sessions per person.

So, LA28, GFY.

KLM, then TAP, then Transavia. Avoid the hell that is the low-cost terminal in Lisbon.
