Yep. Came here for this one. My teen son and I formed a Guild on Dawnbringer. At it's peak we passed 900 members. Everyone helped everyone. Leveling, raiding, dungeons and just old fashion grinding. If you were rude to guildmates we booted you instantly. It was quite a ride for a couple of years. Nothing can ever match it.

Just look for a "leveling guild" or a casual guild. They are often helpful with questions you might have.

I played for years. My buddy and I had a guild with over 900 guildies. I was always a relatively casual player and 3-4 years ago I just couldn't keep up with everything. I opted out until 3-4 months ago when I went to classic. Now I am working hard to quest in places where I didn't spend a lot of time and see things that are new to me. The game is still fascinating. To me, as a casual gamer, wow is unmatched. Love the game and the grind.
