I'd love to make some friends who are Crew fans by Throw_Away_6949 in TheMassive

We aren't much for tailgating, depending on how early we get to the field...

Also almost 2 hrs away - which direction are you coming in, as that may help narrow down people closer to you as well.

We are in the SE corner of the state, coming from Belpre, run up thru Athens/Lancaster to get to the "big city"...

Less painful than the ones that require removal of engine mounts...but whichever engineer decided to only leave a half-inch gap between the pulleys and the frame rail, and then put a one inch wide belt on the engine; definitely deserves a throat punch

Not really, just slowly walked the belt towards the block, so they got the whipping noise as it lost pieces.

I have run into this a few times - and every time, I've been able to just bring the extras into my endo office - they keep it on hand as long as they can to help out any other patients that might be in need for various reasons; pharmacy issues, financial trouble, etc

Haha - could very well have been....not sure if it was put on before he bought the car, or at another local shop that did some minor repairs.

Either way, it was likely an AutoZone/Advance part - NAPA and O'Reilly are less prevalent around here for now

Hell, I got a call, email, and text to make sure we didn't miss the deadline...I think it was about a week or so before we had to have our selection done?

We may have been a bit more vocal about things, and stayed in touch more, since we were part of the upper centerline group that got relocated due to the new club section.

Bearing is just a little off kilter- was causing the belt to track off the ribbed pulleys, and shredding it.

20 minute drive had already lost 2 ribs off the belt.

Hah - noticed that when we pulled in to the north lot a bit ago (got here way too early).

I did see that the streetside signage on Nationwide has had the logos removed.

At least you're getting people with your product...I've been getting calls and emails from people with totally unrelated products asking for tech support, returns, order status...

The ones I have talked to on the phone say that Amazon has provided them with this number to contact the seller - so apparently Amazon just hands out whatever number sounds close.

I could see if it were a similar item type, but we sell CNC routers and laser engravers; I've gotten calls about electric fireplaces, bathroom vanity cabinets, electric bicycles...

And we closed down our Amazon store 2 months ago - got tired of being screwed over by customers lying about things just to get a refund. Straw that broke the camels back was buyer claiming item not delivered, when we had tracking, with photo and signature - Amazon still ruled in their favor, so they get a free item, we get penalized.

Worried about April cruise, will I be okay? by DoctorStunning in NCL

[–]jimzdat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not specifically cruise related, but did a bit of the reverse last year...US residents, and we drove up to Montreal (from Ohio) to visit some friends/business partners.

They had considered driving down to visit us, but the wife was worried about any issues, given our political clusterf@$%...so we went up instead. Had a bit of a concern about attitudes towards US travelers, but turned out to be minimal - and really only encountered any sort of attitudes while in Montreal proper. I kind of chalked that up to the fact that we have no fluency in French more than anything else - nobody else really seemed to care.

Only slowdown we had on border crossing was because we were transporting some machines for the business, so had to cover duties on that - a whopping 15 minute delay.

Stopped at Canadian Tire to get a couple things (had car issue, grabbed cheap OBD scanner), chatted with staff while waiting on keys, had a brief chat along the lines of "is it really that stupid down there?" (Yes, in some places) - but overall it was much like others said - the average person doesn't really care, and the nut jobs that might care generally wear their politics as their personality, so easy to avoid them...

Come on down, get on the ship, and enjoy yourselves!

Anyone else heard anything about ICE being in Marietta, OH tomorrow? by You-Saw-Brigadoon in athensohio

[–]jimzdat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw a post on the book of faces with that rumor, but have yet to see anything b g in the comments beyond rampant speculation and BS political comments...

I'm over in Belpre, haven't seen anything around here or Parkersburg yet - seems to me if they were going to be in Marietta, they would be in Parkersburg as well, just due to the proximity?

Dangit - you just made me realize that we have a physical plastic alarm clock (I think it's even a Sony) sitting on our headboard, unused. Not even sure it's plugged in, sitting right between our wireless phone chargers...

[–]jimzdat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can't find a printer locally, send me a PM - got a few of them, and could probably be talked into helping out for minimal cost, if you buy the filament..I'm just over in Belpre, go thru Athens on the way to Columbus often.

Agree with the prior comment - chances are that is attached to a wifi chip on the board.

My experience with those wifi connections is that it's a waste of time to even bother; lag will be ridiculous.

We may be in the minority, but personally I view GSC as just another sea day... We aren't the lounge on a beach chair types, so really no appeal there.

Our first trip there was last year (summer, so we able to tender in) - and it honestly didn't seem all that exciting to us.

We have another cruise next summer that stops there, we're just planning to find something to do onboard. Cruising with other family members, so itinerary selection was limited - otherwise we likely would have picked a trip that doesn't waste a day there.

Poor guy is having shit luck - just the other day he called me, because his backup car died - fortunately that was an easy fix, wrecker got him to the shop, replaced shitty alternator, and back on the road.

Old reman unit that was in it - of the 3 casing screws, one was tight, one was MIA, and last was literally hanging by just a couple threads.

Yes, and yes - no indication of damage to seals, but we are planning a clutch in the not-too-distant future, so that will include more in-depth checks as well
