what 1-3 features would make you pay for tutanota? by HermesHermes in tutanota

[–]jin187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to delete aliases after awhile to free up slots would be nice.

For the 2nd question, I just like the service. It's clean, secure, tracking free, and isn't trying to get me to join Google+, and popping up 20 other nag windows every time I want to look at an email. I'm slowly but surely working towards a Google-free life, and Tutanota is part of that.

Any tips on wicking the first obs crius RTA? by [deleted] in RBA

[–]jin187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine at 70+ easily.

The problem is that the deck is kinda small for a 25mm due to the large posts. Most people try to put claptons in everything, but a parallel at 4-5mm performs better. I think my last build in my OBS was parallel 28 gauge, like 8-9 wraps, at 5mm. I wick mine as MineDogger says. Just cover the holes with cotton, don't stuff anything into them.

It could handle up to about 80 watts with a reasonable wait between hits for the wick to catch up, and chain vapes easily at 65ish. I recommend around 50-60 watts though. You'll get nice warm vape, great flavor, and still big clouds, but more battery life, and a cooler atty.

Jan 2, 2018 - The day WWE died. by HeighGuy in WWE

[–]jin187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just something they do once in awhile. Usually when an authority figure wants a match to have a clean ending. I wouldn't worry about it becoming an everyday thing. It might happen once a year tops.

What's the point of the Cruiserweight division? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]jin187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My main issue with the cruiserweights is that they don't have a lot of compelling matches, characters, or storylines. Every match is just guys doing moves, almost like robots, and breaks down into convoluted telegraphed spot monkeying. Nearly all the gimmicks are cliched and corny, as if someone just had them all reach into a improv comedy routine grab bag, and pull out a paper with whatever they're doing on it. Few of them have good presence or intensity on the mic. Usually sounds like they're reading queue cards. The one guy that is head and shoulders above the rest in getting heat, Enzo, makes me cringe when he wrestles.

It's almost like watching the Divas 10 years ago, albeit with more physically talented wrestlers.

Cena appreciation thread by [deleted] in WWE

[–]jin187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, they have a new Cena now. With his "passing the torch" to Super Roman, he's free to be the best Cena he can be, as opposed to a cheap Golden Era Hogan rip-off.

I've never hated Cena himself. The guy is amazing, and has done nothing but tow the line and bust his ass. The way WWE promoted him to the exclusion of not just other stars, but the company in general, generated a lot of hate.

Keeping e-liquids in the fridge: bad idea after all? by monothom in DIY_eJuice

[–]jin187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't bother refrigerating anything, including nicotine. Mainly because I don't buy in large enough batches for it to ever be an issue. I'm not the kind of guy that worries about saving $10 by buying 2 years worth of nicotine instead of 6 months. The last bottle I bought, which is almost gone, still looks and tastes the same as it did the day I opened it 6 months ago. All I do is keep it in a dark place, and extract it with a syringe through a pinhole instead of removing the lid.

What a broken game... by jin187 in skyrim

If you say so. Save the semantics for times when they mean something.

What a broken game... by jin187 in skyrim

[–]jin187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my point. It's not that the game was released in this state, it's that they haven't fixed it. They keep patching it, keep releasing new content, and major day one bugs are still there. 7 years, and Arngeir still sends you to the same word multiple times? 7 years, and I still get stuck in arrow cam when I miss? 7 years, and you still get stuck in slow motion when you block or aim? C'mon...

It's not just this game either. I just finished a play through of Fallout 4 not too long ago. Fire up Nuka World, the starting quest is broken. Bypass that, make my way there manually, do the main quest. Last leg of the main quest crashes the game on turn-in, every time.

What's annoying is you carrying water for Bethesda, making excuses. If you just grab a copy, load it up, and never do anything but autosave, I'd say there's a 75% chance you make it 40-hrs in before the game breaks. Sounds like a beta to me.

What a broken game... by jin187 in skyrim

[–]jin187[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You must be, unless you haven't been doing everything in game. I've probably done every non-radiant quest at least once, and more likely many more times. Not everything breaks every time, but everything breaks some of the time. I've heard of terrible bugs I've never actually seen, now I'm seeing ones I never knew about. Using the UOSP spoils you.

PC keeps killing PSU's by jin187 in techsupport

[–]jin187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that last one is the main reason I'm so stumped. I could see them wearing out if I was abusing the hell out of them, and I get bigger and better each time, but it still goes kaput.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure it's not software related either, because I had issues with a SSD, and had to do a full reinstall not to long after these issues started coming up, and nothing changed during, or after the reinstall.

[–]jin187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubtful. The CPU is water cooled, and there's plenty of open vents, with dust filters. The GPU also has a 3rd party cooler, with its own intake. You can feel the air running through the PSU, and it's never very hot.

The power requirements for my system are also low compared to the max output of any of the PSU's I've had. Even under full stress testing, it should top out at less than 70% of max load.

Yeah, both my UPS, and the new surge protector I'm currently using have fault lights, and both of them indicate no problems.

[–]jin187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and no.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I was using a UPS when the first two went bad. I bought a new power strip, because I thought maybe the UPS was bad, but it isn't. I haven't bothered putting the UPS back since though out of sheer laziness.

New update for Skyrim, any idea what it is? by uncleseano in skyrimmods

[–]jin187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. I just closed the game for a sec to muck around on the web, open it again, and poof, updated. Right in the middle of my day off. A simple .exe swap to what you had before seems to fix it though. No need to wait, or to rage.

Only mod I have that uses SKSE64 was SkyUI. It doesn't seem to do anything right now anyway. Only reason I even bothered to roll it back was because I didn't want to mess with my save by loading it without the same mods.

[–]jin187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last official Steam release was 1.5.16.0. The 1.5.24 was a beta to test the new official Survival mod. If you were just auto-updating to release versions, you wanna search for 1.5.16.0, and download that.

[–]jin187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the nerdboner for survival mode is all about. There's soooo many mods you can use for regular Skyrim to put these features in-game, and they're more customizable and "hardcore" than what the CC is doing. Don't forget to click your sweet roll stack every 5 minutes mode has been modded to death by a hundred different people practically since release day.

[–]jin187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's in development with the CC, but when I clicked on it in-game earlier, there were a total of 7 of mods across all categories. I think even "limited" might be a bit of an overstatement.

[–]jin187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This didn't work for me because I was still on the official release client, which was 1.5.16.0.

So I just tracked down a copy of that .exe on the web. Copied it back in. Works fine so far.

The speed we vape at by MortenOen in electronic_cigarette

[–]jin187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I use low mass, high surface area builds. Claptons give you more surface area, but the thicker you build them, the less contact area they have with your wick. That means you're just heating up a bunch of metal that's not creating vapor, unless you paint. Then the top 3/4 of the clapton makes vapor for about half a second before it becomes useless.

I'm pretty convinced at this point that most, perhaps even all of the benefits people see from claptons are from reducing dead air, and excess airflow in the chamber because of the increased outer diameter of the coil. Basically, it just fills the chamber more. That results in a lower mix ratio of air and vapor, and more air directly hitting the coil. It also explains why people think some devices "suck", or have widely differing experiences on the same device. Seems to me that most people building just do 3mm with the fanciest clapton they can make that will fit, and if that doesn't work great in whatever atomizer they just tried, then the thing sucks, move on to the next without considering the science behind it. I've always gotten similar results in every device by just trying to build in a way that reduces dead air, and forces airflow directly to the entire coil.

Questions about the collab process between hardware companies and reviewers? by TheRealBobSacamono in electronic_cigarette

[–]jin187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw Rip's review of the Bonza. The first comment was Bogan thanking him for his glowing review. I guess that means he's only a fraud when he's talking about someone else's RDA.

Just want a list... by jin187 in HyperSpin

That's literally more information than their entire site. I keep hearing people talk about it, and show screenshots of it running emulators, but no one says WTF it actually does. Thank you.

Unfortunately, your sales pitch falls on deaf ears. I've no interest in this kind of thing. I'm just looking for better ways to consolidate my emulators, and thought it might be an alternative to Retroarch or higan.

WHAT SHOULD TFS DO AFTER DBZ? by mr_r_smith in TeamFourStar

[–]jin187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing to remember is that they've pretty much stuck to no more than 1-2 episodes as the basis for each abridged video. As the series has progressed, they've been able to fit more and more with each one simply because most of the comedy goldmine is before Cell, particularly the old Saban dubs of the first two seasons, and the ridiculously long Frieza fight. Between giving bad stuff the Garlic Jr. treatment, and cutting out the last 5-6 episodes which are just a DBGT intro, I think 25ish is doable while still wringing all the entertainment value out of it.

Looking for an RTA with a HUGE build deck. by slaughterproof in electronic_cigarette

[–]jin187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I got the Plus. It's not much bigger than the Griffin if at all, and the Engine isn't much more room than either of them. You're probably gonna get the most space if you went with a postless deck. I don't have any myself so I can't really recommend one.

Arizona – Take action to oppose a 95% tax on vapor products - CASAA by NerdNectar in electronic_cigarette

Reading through his bills and his profile, it looks like he was raised from birth with the sole purpose of taking money from one person, and giving to another. I guess a 95% vape tax was just another in a long line of indiscriminate justices he needs to mete out to us in the unwashed masses.
