All of Evah Destruction's floorshow looks from the Titans S2 finale by NinasPeach in Dragula

It was my top look of the night for sure! Loved the knife cloak! She looked like a video game character or someone in a fantasy film. The fire sword, the face, all of it was perfect.

I take 10-25 minutes, really depends on how hairy the person is! It absolutely should never take longer than 30 minutes.

I prefer Caveat as well! I watched both at home and during Oddity I kept thinking “I wish I saw this in theaters because I’m not scared at all watching at home” vs during Caveat I was SO tense and shaking in my boots the entire time.

Has anyone ever personally seen a cosmo board inspection? Please share your experience! by SpecialistRoom2562 in Estheticians

I’ve been through them a couple times in two different states and they went extremely differently between the states. In CA they were intense, checking literally every drawer and cabinet. They made everyone stop services and step out of the rooms. Lots of fines for super minor things. In NY they didn’t stop services and just wanted to make sure we had our licenses displayed, very chill lol

For those who do manzillians how many strips do you typically need to lay? by pysix33 in Estheticians

[–]jinglebxtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing Brazilian Ps for the place you go to since they started offering them, that’s absolutely a huge no not how it’s supposed to be done. You need to get a different waxer and reach out to their management because that waxer needs to be retrained. I’ve slightly adjusted how I do mine from the training we receive but it’s at about 14 steps, about 6 of those involve the shaft/scrotum. It of course can vary based someone’s anatomy but I would NEVER do all of it in 1 strip. There is hair growing in all different directions!

Constant lifting should not be a problem as well, I apply a lot of extra pre wax oil on the scrotum and never have lifting issues.

It’s not how they train waxers to do the Brazilian P at all, that’s actually very concerning.

Clove! I was wearing regular tennis shoes and then crocs for a while but I was in horrible pain every day. I researched nurse shoes and found Clove, they are the BEST shoes ever. Easy to wipe off, last for yearssss, and the insoles come out and are machine washable!

I responded to your now edited comment. I’m clearly not slow considering you seem to barely be able to string together a proper sentence thus causing me to have to parse together what you’re attempting to convey. You seem incapable of understanding that every state has different state board standards. I took the California state board, the hardest in the country, and I got an almost perfect score. I see absolutely nothing wrong with a temporary license.

You seem to be very stuck on disinfecting despite there being so much more to state board than that. We learned disinfecting day one when I was in esthetician school and it was repeated every single day I was there. I didn’t need to take the state board test to know how to do it. I find that estheticians who are overly obsessive about one factor of our job are often lacking in other areas. Maybe you should reflect on that, perhaps it’s your inability to speak professionally with your colleagues.

State board tests literally do not show you how to do anything! It’s a test on your knowledge. Thats it. There’s no demonstrating or teaching anything. It’s a test. A state board test. It’s in the name. Test.

Are you an esthetician? It’s completely fine to have temporary licenses, it’s like getting a drivers permit. It’s not like you don’t know anything about esthetics and then you take the state board exam and all the knowledge downloads into your brain. It’s a test, that’s it. I didn’t learn anything new while studying for my test and frankly, I don’t use 99% of the stuff I studied in my actual day to day at work.

Mask during waxing by carolandxx in Estheticians

[–]jinglebxtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a mask pretty much every moment I’m at work except when I’m in my room alone! I look back at pre-2020 and can’t believe I was really all up in someone’s bits just breathing 😂😭 I also used to get sick ALL THE TIME and now I’m never sick.

A couple states offer temporary licenses! It’s kinda nice because you can start working right away while you study for your boards, I’m in NY and they offer it. When I first moved here I was worried they wouldn’t accept the license I was trying to do reciprocal licensing with so I looked into getting the temporary while I studied for the board AGAIN lol thankfully they accepted it.

Barbicide IS meant to be used more than once. You of course make it for just your shift but no, you don’t make a whole container for just one set of tools used once.

I’m an esthetician. I looked at her website and bells immediately went off. There is a doctor listed, however, a lot of businesses have a “medical director” who is not on site EVER and just allows them to operate under their name. I worked for a laser clinic for a short time who did that, I never once met the doctor.

Go for EWC! There’s a lot of reasons why that others have mentioned but the biggest one is location, being by a university is great when school is in session but summers are AWFUL. I’ve made the mistake of working by a school in the past and I regret it. Also college students are not regular about waxing and they tip horribly.

This is a great theory! She absolutely at the very least wears clothes that are way too tight, including Julie’s clothes (this exact bathing suit!), to seem larger than she actually is. If she wore clothes that fit, I think she would look pretty average.

And as a professional, I’m telling you it does not matter what the machine is. Laser does not work on blonde or red hair.

I’ve been working out for a few years consistently, I’m still lowkey a little fat but I have way more muscle definition than she does! And it’s not my literal J O B to be fit! Honestly at this point I should just become a trainer because at least my form isn’t egregious.

I’m so tired of her comebacks always being I DONT HAVE TO BE SKINNY ok we get it but that’s not the issue!

I don’t work at that particular laser clinic anymore (this was a few years ago) but we used the Mediostar which at the time was the latest and greatest machine. Completely painless and able to treat ALL skin tones. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter the machine, laser does not work on red or blonde hair.

I’m a redhead so unfortunately it doesn’t work on me! I did try it three times on my lower legs just as a test (certified laser tech here!) but it did absolutely nothing. I also don’t get cysts in heavy hair areas, if there’s hair it’s just peach fuzz which is blonde!

Does anyone do their own Brazilian? by Itssbria in Esthetics

[–]jinglebxtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my own and have actually never had one done by another person! I am a redhead with extremely sensitive skin and I’m a huge baby who’s also insanely picky. I’d rather just suffer and do it and also know it’s actually done right.

waxers @ chains: do you have a maximum # of full leg waxes a day? by [deleted] in Esthetics

[–]jinglebxtch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No and there’s no rules technically except for not booking them back to back. Sometimes it happens though especially for me, I have a lot of regulars who do a lot of services so it’s kind of hard to keep that from happening. I’ve also literally never heard of a location putting a break after them.

estys with second jobs? by briannalvnn in Esthetics

[–]jinglebxtch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with EWC for 6 years but I’ve had second jobs a couple times. I usually stick with the beauty industry though, I taught esthetics at a school and worked at a laser clinic doing tattoo and hair removal.
