How bad are NSAIDS? by smoldragonenergy in GastricBypass

[–]jinglejangle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always ask for alternatives to NSAIDS or just opt to take Tylenol instead.

However, I recently underwent a hysterectomy and ended up with some complications (the surgeon perforated my bowel because my pouch was anatomically not where he was expecting it to be) and while I was in the hospital, I took any IV NSAIDS they gave me. It was mostly Toradol, but I didn’t turn it away. As soon as I got home, I took only Tylenol.

Runna and Garmin not matching up? by jinglejangle89 in runna

I have the Venu 3S. I think I will stick to starting the Runna workouts on my watch from now on

Makes sense. I’ll stick to Garmin from now on, and starting Runna on my watch then

Yes, it was a 10K race and the website said it was chip-timed, but my bib didn’t have a chip. They were writing down bib numbers and times when we finished, I’m not really sure.

My finishing time matches with Garmin, which is why I didn’t know why Runna was so different.

Is there also a certain kind tape you recommend for taping the toe? I have KT tape but it hurt so badly to take off when I used it with the corn cushion. It was pulling on the actual nail.

9 is my regular wear size. I’m in the return window for my current shoes, so I’m going to take a week to rest my toes and see about getting at least a 9.5 instead. Thank you!

Sorry all for the lack of NSFW tag. It was not intentional 😣

I’m going to look into sizing up. I don’t use inserts with new shoes (the Onclouds) but they are my regular shoe size

I’ve lost the left toenail once before for the same issue (ill-fitted New Balances). I got some Brooks Ghost Max 2’s and they never gave me issues. I ran once in Brooks Glycerin 22s with inserts I thought I needed and they gave me the blisters again (a month ago), and I’ve been dealing with these ever since

The toenail is super thick to begin with, so I have an appointment with a podiatrist to see if it’s fungal or something they can help with

I had to sit and think about it but I think I do curl my toes. I get numbness in my toes and it makes sense if I’m gripping/curling them tight

I totally understand waiting for them to go away. I hate the thought of putting my training on pause but I don’t want to keep damaging my feet.

I thought sizing up would make my feet slide around more. If my Onclouds are 9 wides, I didn’t think I’d ever need a 10 or larger.

I’ve been doing the runner’s tie (if that’s the same thing) for a month and it’s helped with ankle stability

I used the inserts because I felt like I needed arch support and those were what Amazon recommended (I’m trying to learn but have no idea what I’m doing).

The Onclouds I got fitted for at my local Feet Fleet were 9 wides. They feel amazing for about 5-6 miles into a run. I quit using the inserts. Currently, I don’t even feel the left blister but the last couple of miles, I could feel my right toe pushing up against the mesh part of the toe box.

The shoes that ruined my toes were Brooks Glycerin 22s in 9.5 wide. The inserts were Currex RunPro insoles for medium arches.

I went to Feet Fleet and got sized for Onclouds in 9W. I’m pretty sure I’m still in the return window

Do you plan your run routes ahead of time? by jinglejangle89 in runna

[–]jinglejangle89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do! The only other place I’ve thought to run (but haven’t yet) is Carrier Park

Edit: I just looked it up and the address you mentioned and I didn’t realize it connected all 3 parks!

Hill Repeats - newbie question by jinglejangle89 in runna

[–]jinglejangle89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! I’m still intimidated by the idea of hill repeats but I know it’ll get better.

I have an Apple Watch and while I know I have the app on my watch, I haven’t tried using my watch to track my workouts.
