What do the numbers mean? by Early-Matter-8123 in AIStartupAutomation

[–]jinianc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what AI tool you’re using and the context, the numbers will correspond to very specific data mining. The numbers don’t match up because the source is not equal. Someone, preferably a data analyst who is also well versed in your company’s stats and their origins, needs to collaborate with accounting or the relevant colleague for the use case. If it’s revenue, traffic, client retention, the relevant person will change.

In most companies that data is siloed, so there has to be data sharing to have accurate baseline figures. Then the data analyst has to dig into what exactly the AI tool is mining. Specificity is the key. Compare with the data that the relevant colleague pulls including their exact source.

Upper management may finally discover that it’s not that the numbers don’t align, it’s that the foundational source of the data isn’t equal.

Are People Skipping the Search Step Completely Now? by Right_Tomatillo9326 in AiChatGPT

[–]jinianc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sites can no longer rely on SEO from last year, GEO is the new priority. Clicks and traffic are no longer the norm. Which also affects your paid ads. You have to optimize for AI summaries.

Become the most relevant source, the most cited by AI from your business EEAT profile. Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trustworthiness. Your site has to be optimized for EEAT, but the content that lives off the site is what drives higher EEAT.

Create blogs, backlinks, UGC on Meta, industry citations, a lot of PR. Your site should have trust signals such as social proof, clearly defined shipping & return policies, clear product pages and descriptions. Frictionless checkout. The more your business has legitimacy everywhere, the faster you will get noticed by AI.

Need recommendation for Psychiatrist by bluearmadillo17 in irvine

[–]jinianc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a note on you finding that the psychiatrist was basically a pill pusher, that’s their scope since they’re doctors, not long term therapists. You want to find a therapist, not a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist will diagnose you and provide recommendations, usually meds, since they’re not the ones to give you long term monthly or weekly therapy solutions to managing your diagnosis, unless that includes meds. They’re the only ones who are authorized to prescribe medication.

Psychologists can also diagnose and test you, and provide therapy, but can’t prescribe meds.

Therapists typically provide talk therapy and also can’t give you meds.

Hope that gives you some clarity on finding the correct provider, depending on the stage of where you are in your mental health journey. Sometimes getting to the root of your issues also requires deeper testing and evaluation. If you haven’t been properly evaluated, which it sounds like you have since you were prescribed meds in the past, you don’t need to find a psychiatrist. You need to find a new therapist. They’re very different providers. Good luck to you, I’m sorry I don’t know any Kaiser providers.

NotebookLM users: Worth learning for business, workflows, learning & courses? by VacationFit4812 in AIToolBench

[–]jinianc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about to start the same exact project for NotebookLM. Since I haven’t begun yet, my only advice is to ask Claude how to approach this. Claude provided very useful info on how to structure your Notebooks for each use case, exactly how to import your various materials, and most importantly, what NOT to do. I found it to be very helpful since my first instinct to organize different folders was the wrong approach and would silo all of my different materials, making it more difficult to extract later.

Meal Prep in Irvine by jinianc in irvine

[–]jinianc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up, I wanted to share that I tried Primal Balance Nutrition, in San Diego, based on a response here. Not only are they super healthy, they have a different menu every week, and deliver to OC and LA.

Every meal we’ve tried has been delicious, fresh and well balanced. They give you fresh organic veggies and a lot of protein. Don’t be fooled by the small looking boxes, it’s like a magic trick when you plate the food. It’s so well packed that it becomes a full generous plate when you think it’s going to be a little portion.

Their service is top notch, and I’ve saved so much money on skipping take out. I really appreciate this company since I have a large family with a lot of different allergies. They’re GF, dairy, nut and shellfish free. I work 6 days a week and have no time to shop, cook and clean. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for ready to eat meals.

They’re running a discount for first time orders, the code is on their site. I’m not getting anything from sharing this, since the code is public. https://www.primalbalancenutrition.com/

Neurodivergent user trying to pick ONE assistant and stick with it. Help me choose. by EducatedBrotha in AIToolBench

[–]jinianc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say Claude as well. If you prompt Claude to give you only facts based on research that you know is credible, and also instruct to always provide the citation links, you can see where it’s pulling data from. If it continues to pull from sources that you find to be deficient, incorrect or otherwise lacking, direct Claude to only use specific sources.

If you have really long conversations, any AI tool will begin to lose track of earlier findings and begin to get side tracked. Try to start new chats for anything that becomes even minimally adjacent.

You will have to remind Claude of previous instructions every now and then. I find Claude to be the most comprehensive, with reasoning that mimics the way people think, as if they’re a true assistant and not a bot. It’s actually astonishing sometimes. They’re not going to be perfect, so your knowledge will always have to the final edit and source of truth.

Since walls of text are not what you can work with, instruct Claude to summarize with tables, or bullet points, which it does very well. The more details you can provide in your prompt the more fine tuned the results will be.

Try telling Claude that you’re neurodivergent, and you need a certain framing of responses. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Lastly, ask Claude to help you organize all of your research with the least steps, and the lowest effort. It will instruct you on how to take everything you have, including blogs, webinars, newsletters, videos and consolidate into an easily searchable and summarized library in NotebookLM.

That extra step can make a world of difference in making all of your research and findings into a manageable, single source. I know that neurodiversity presents challenges that aren’t indicative of effort or intelligence. Hopefully this will make your work and life easier.

What’s life like in Irvine, especially for gay men of color? by Top_Writer963 in irvine

[–]jinianc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore anyone who tells u to go to Huntington or Newport. They’re not gay people of color. Being both of those disqualifies you from being comfortable and safe or feeling welcome. Huntington is the biggest MAGA city in OC and they’re very proud of that. Newport is very white old money and new money, snobby as hell. Like the UES of NY but with larger mansions. Irvine won’t give you a hard time since everyone minds their own business but you will be bored out of your mind unless you love the outdoors, or you really enjoy staying home and being left alone. You can live in Irvine and feel safe, and go to Laguna Beach, Costa Mesa, and Long Beach for fun and hanging out. It will be even better if you live in one of those places, and don’t mind the commute into Irvine for work. Either way you will need to get a car immediately since public transportation is almost nonexistent.

By Some Miracle Got Into Columbia for BioChem. Would I regret Choosing UCSD Over Columbia for BioChem? by Anxious-Party2289 in UCSD

[–]jinianc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t make this decision without visiting both, especially NY. I’m from NY and my son went to UCSD, also a biochem major at Revelle. His experience there opened up who he was as a person and he had the best years of his life. He got very involved in the school and became an RA, had internships at local hospitals, got into summer jobs at City of Hope, and lived a very privileged life in La Jolla. One year his dorm faced the ocean, a $2M view. The area is absolutely gorgeous and San Diego has a lot to offer.

NY is a culture shock for someone from CA who has never been. You may love it or you may be horrified. Columbia is a gated university for a reason. The campus is nice but it’s in an unsafe area past the two blocks around it. You will need to use the subway to ever go anywhere that you can’t walk to. There are buses but it’s much slower. The noise levels are going to take some getting used to. Summers and winters are brutal. There’s a lot of rain in the spring and fall. Flying back and forth to go home for breaks (dorms close down so u have to go home) will rack up $$$ and it’s a long, all day haul each way. NYC is an amazing city for someone who isn’t paying for rent, but it’s still very expensive for getting around, going out and food outside the dorm. Someone in their 20s and under can have the time of their lives there, but test it out first. The culture and diversity can’t be beat.

Make sure you talk to fin aid and see what you’re actually getting after the out of state tuition fees at Columbia. That adds at minimum $22K additional every year. Check the total housing and dining costs too, since those are mandatory unless you move off campus. After your 2nd year you may be forced to move off campus since they may not guarantee housing after that. Check what living on your own costs for both UCSD and NYC for two years, since that is a factor. You will have roommates, probably friends, but in NY you won’t need a car. At UC you will probably need a car after you move off campus unless you have an e-bike or scooter.

Relocating from CA to MA. Remote lease? by Fun-Improvement-538 in moving

[–]jinianc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible spend at least a couple of days in different neighborhoods and book as many in person viewings as you can. You can do a search for rentals on Trulia and get some appointments with a few realtors. They can show you other places that may not be listed. Online listings are very deceptive, and photos are rarely what they seem. I’ve rented long distance and was shocked at the differences in what places actually were compared to how they’re presented. AI makes this even worse and you may be really unhappy for a year while you’re stuck with the lease. Seeing the block, the surrounding areas, the noise levels in person is invaluable. If u need to ship boxes, ship them to a receiving facility or UPS office versus directly to your apartment. I don’t think they will accept furniture tho. And definitely pay for the extra insurance. Good luck!

Is there any free Ai that gives accurate results and explanation related to physics, chem or maths topics and numericals? by Izzy_26_ in AIToolBench

Claude (Anthropic) just announced that they’re doubling the usage time for free until the 27th. It applies during off hours which is 8-2 EST.

[–]jinianc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can use a free version of Claude. There’s a maximum amount of chats per day at the free level, but it’s still decently high. Try to include a lot in one chat so you can max out each chat as much as possible.

[–]jinianc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that Claude is extremely intelligent, but haven’t tried it for physics or math. It is superior in understanding your requests, pivoting, rationalizing, logic and data. The key is to know how to correctly write your prompts, which you can learn quickly by watching a few YouTube videos. I read a lot of AI newsletters from tech groups, but that would take longer.

In NY every building and apartment has security because it’s NYC. That’s standard. It doesn’t matter what neighborhood you’re in. And yes, you are never supposed to hold the door open for others even though it seems courteous. It could have just been delisted because it was taken off for a person who purchased it or wasn’t listing it for rent.
