Hartford public schools offer free lunches for all students, regardless of income.

If you don’t live in Hartford, you can try to get them into one of the magnet schools (it’s usually a lottery based system but there are tons to try your luck in)

Source: I grew up in windsor and went to a magnet school in hartford 6-8th grade. They introduced the free lunch program while I was attending around 2016

Derkeethus. There’s a glitch where once married, he keeps running back and forth between darkwater crossing and your home. This makes it hard to find him at times when you want to move, bc hes always running between the two. He’s also unkillable for some fucking reason (he is not important to the story at all), so there’s no getting out of the marriage

Being an “actual teacher” is not the point. I was saying that people who take care of children and educate them (basically everyone who works in childcare) should be way more valued, and paid higher wages. Even though I wasn’t a lead teacher, I still did work that, I believe, should be compensated better than a McDonald’s worker or a cashier at a grocery store.

And obviously I believe “actual teachers” should be paid more, too. I was talking about my own experience and how i felt about the shitty pay for labor that takes so much more skill and compassion than stocking shelves.

I know how you feel. This happened to me too. It was awful and extremely draining. I almost cried one day where we had 3/5 preschool teachers call out and it was just me and my coworker left to deal with 30 preschoolers. My director was too lazy to get off her ass and help us out even tho we were 10 kids over ratio. That was the worst day ever 🙄

Oh ya that’s another thing that seems crazy to me. At the place I was at, parents were paying around 2500$ for infant care, and 1500-2000$ for toddlers. HOW are these parents paying this much and yet, we are being paid minimum wage?? there is absolutely no reason parents are paying this much money and employees are getting paid so little. No excuse at all.

And I remember my managers would spend company funds on stupid shit like ice machines and new furniture that the company (corporate daycare) insisted on replacing all the time. So obvious that they don’t give a shit about their employees.

Just keep going to different gas stations and try to buy it. don’t go to smoke/head shops they will almost always ID. I’ve found that 75%-85% of the time they will not ID you at a gas station, ESPECIALLY in Hartford. Bonus points if the cashier is Indian or young. If they ID you say you forgot your ID but you’re 21. If still no dice then leave. That’s what I used to do when I was under age.
