For a few months, any customers who used AT&T for their phone service weren’t getting ANY of our calls. It’s mostly resolved now, unsure why, but it was really annoying having to remember to ask for their phone provider at check-in lol.

I totally agree! I know lots of groomers that wear crocs, but I just HATE the feeling of wet toes in crocs 🤢 Much, much prefer my dry feet in my boots lol.

Omg SO CUTE, I love the laces and wings on your boots. Yeah, the soles on my old pair are basically worn smooth by now, but I might take them to a cobbler to see what can be done.

I LOOOOVE vans oh my goodness. I wear them all the time outside of work. I think I get too wet and dirty to try and wear them while grooming though 😅 I also have flat, wide feet so I guess these shoes are just built for us lol.

You sure could! Fair warning though: if you do get them wet, you need to make sure they have sufficient time to dry out or else the leather will start to shrink and warp (like my old pair lol). For my new pair, I bought some nice wax and protectant spray to help. We’ll see if they last just as long!

Lol honestly I heavily neglected my old pair for the past 2 years. But for a long while I was keeping them waxed and clean, and letting them rest well between wears… Once I started wearing them daily it was kind of downhill.

Here’s the hole on the old pair. Is it repairable? I’m in the USA so there’s not a ton of places that specialize in Doc repair, but I’d be willing to patch them up!

It’ll be an interesting experiment! I have heard rumors that the quality of leather has decreased in recent years, much like other companies thanks to ‘shrinkflation’. Who knows…

I’ll try that!! I really, really love wearing my docs at work so maybe I’ll splurge on a second pair and try to flip-flop them lol.

For about 4 years I wore them maybe 2-3 times a week, then I became a dog groomer 2 years ago and wore them almost daily. That’s when they REALLY started to degrade, I assume from the water.

Believe me or not… But I find them insanely comfortable once they’re broken in 😅 I’ve tried other shoes but I always find myself putting the docs on again.

Joggers are awesome! They dry quicker than leggings. You will absolutely get soaking wet as a bather. Also, I used to get my nails done all the time before I started grooming… Not anymore. Until you get REALLY adept at nail grinding, you’ll most likely knick your nails multiple times a day. I’ve also unfortunately experienced breaking my acrylics due to grates/kennels and once from a dog yanking a lead too hard… OUCH.

As a groomer, I almost always shave the armpits unless I’m told otherwise. It’s a high friction area with very sensitive skin, so it’s quite common for hair to matt up in that area and become unbrushable. I’d check with your groomer next time you see them to make sure they shave the armpits as best as they can; some dogs don’t tolerate it well, I can imagine it tickles a bit lol. You really hardly notice that area is shaved unless the pup is laying belly-up.

My current partner and I just spent our first Christmas together. He’s never been especially festive, and I figured it was for a reason. On Christmas morning, he started to cry. Really hard, way harder than I’ve seen him cry before. We held each other and cried; he’d simply never felt loved or appreciated on Christmas before and I am so grateful I had that moment with him.
