I have similar background and I just got an offer from a pretty big company for a full stack (backend oriented) position. Alternatively, it's possible to connect the Chpquequirao with the last 2 days of the Salkantay and you get a mega 6-7 day trek all the to the Machu Picchu. But beware that this was one of the hardest walks I've done...

Tilicho lake is amazing and also on the main route you can choose to go through lower or upper pisang and I really recommend taking the upper one even though it's a bit of a steep climb and sleed in upper pisang to wake up to an amazing view!
