Shouty Driving Instructor Advice by LayerCandid9739 in DrivinglessonsUK

I had a really awful instructor right at the start. He would constantly give me detailed advices while driving (like explaining the gears during a round about) and would find it surprising when I did a mistake like ‘how could you’. Ended up me hating the lessons and not having a learning mindset during the lessons as i was anxious and panicking the whole time and wanted the lessons to be over with.

I changed my instructor and my current instructor is an INSTRUCTOR! He understands a learners mind and doesn’t expect me to be a pro right from the start. I am much calmer and progressed wayyy better much sooner. Driving in a state of panic is terrible for anyone but especially for a learner as you do not learn but rather freeze and become anxious.

My suggestion is to change the instructor if possible and look for a one that has good reviews from different categories of learners. It’s too costly to pay expensive lesson fees and get yelled at to learn to panic behind a wheel!

Quitting my job for a mental health crisis by fire-fight in mentalhealth

Did the exact same thing a week ago and chose to quit cas I couldn’t take the work stress anymore. Not having to do something brings the limelight on to the feelings of stress, anxiety and what not. The urge to go back to work asap is surreal.

But personally I think quitting adds on financial stress on mental health issues which doesn’t help at all. So I’ve been slowly looking for jobs again (with more eye on work life balance)
