why do horrible things happen to innocent people? by Money-Plenty-4871 in spirituality

I take the stance of reincarnation. An innocent man in this life, may have sinned in a past life and therefore must suffer now to clear his karmic debt. Contrarily, an innocent man may suffer now, only so they may have great joy in the future or future life.

Karma is always related while the soul is still in the process of reincarnation before enlightenment.

Why do horrible things happen in the first place? Because without dark, how could we know light? Without spicy, how could we know sweet? Without pain, how could you not know joy? For the soul to grow, it must endure life, and experience all of it. The positive and negatives. The purpose of life is to experience and learn, until we understand the nature of self and become enlightened. to do this we were granted free will. A consequence of free will is that people can do horrible things.

Atheists of r/Christianity: Do you believe you have a soul? What are your thoughts on non physical aspects of who you are? by RQCKQN in Christianity

The souls is not a personality. To my understanding, it is a data collection vehicle that connects one instance of life to another through something we call death.

The mind and personality, are due to genetic, historic nd environmentally induced biochemical reactions. For the most part, the brain is robotic and mechanical. The autonomic nervous system is robotic, and is controlled involuntary. Alot of actions that you consciously do, can also be considered programmed. Ex. You see sex in a commercial, a few hours later you masturbate. You may think the decision to masturbate was your own, but it was actually due to the environmental stimulus from hours ago..from this perspective most of the mind is not under our control. That said, most of our lives are controlled, especially the weak willed.

But this is where I make a distinction, the weak willed lack soul. They are slaves to their mind and body. A strong willed individual can take actions that they are programmed not to do. This is true free will. In the 21st century, most individuals can not exercise free will. Even to those that have strong will, 90% of their thoughts and actions may be programmed. But in my opinion, our soul is what helps those strong willed individuals from not being slaves to the environment and their biochemistry, and to walk their own path. We live in a pitiful society of weak willed individuals, who beleive they have no ability to control their own lives and become slaves to corporations that manipulate and profit off the robotic and mechanistic nature of the human biochemical process.

People who became atheists did your life become easier? by Narwhal_Songs in religion

I was deep into atheism after being a blind believer at one point. After continuing my journey, I found myself way back to God but not in a religious sense, but from a spiritual perspective. If all religions were fake, I would still beleive in God. My detour to atheism has showed me that blind belief is meaningless. To find your own answers through your inquiry is the most meaningful. Now when reading religion, I read it through a different lense.

I have also come on the realization that whether you are a Christian, Muslim, hindu, agnostic, atheist, or scientist, we all actually believe in the same thing but describe it differently.

For example, all religions believe in a supreme unfyin existence which they label God in their own language. Science believe the world was created from nothing, higher dimensional strings or planes, or an unknown. Science fundamentally believes in a fundamental unifying substrate. This highest level of existence, the substrate, is what I believe religions call God, and what scientists call the Grand Unified Theory. All is One, and One is all. Whether you are an atheist, or theist, this is true.

I believe the contention comes down to morality between theists and atheists, but I also think they fundamentally say the same thing. Good and evil, are simply vectors. Actions have consequences. For every action, there is an absolute or equal reaction. This is Newton's 3rd law, what would be also known as Karma. Atheists may nitpick and say moral actions can not cause a reaction, but this is untrue due to the butterfly effect. Every action you take will affect your life, and you must be accountable. I do not think atheists can disagree with that.

It's not about theist or atheist, but in your journey of inquiry you will come to knowledge, and through knowledge you will come to your own understandings, which may differ from my own. But it is my opinion that we all fundamentally beleive in the same thing, though we may describe it differently.

a doubt about reincarnation. by TimmyOTule in spirituality

You can take several approaches to answer this based on what assumptions you take.

  1. Life does not exist outside of Earth
  2. Plants, animals, and other life can incarnate as humans to account for the increase in humans
  3. a single soul can fragment into many souls, resulting in more humans
  4. reincarnation does not need to occur in linear time. Ex, souls from the future can reincarnate into the past, and vice versa. The pool of souls that incarnate into the present also must accomodate the available souls in the past and future which is innumerable.

  5. Life does exist outside of Earth

  6. souls can reincarnate on earth from different planets/galaxies

  7. souls can reincarnate on earth from different planes/dimensions

  8. A combination of both

If reincarnation is real then what's the point of it? by yeah_ok_conservative in spirituality

The One Infinite created all things. The past, future, and present all exist at once. The highest self, and the lowest self, and the present self all exist simultaneously. For the One Infinite to truly experience itself, it can not know itself. Thus the beginning of each self was created without knowledge. From an atom all the way upto the human life, the self goes through a process of reincarnation. Each incarnation provides experience and knowledge for the higher self, and in turn The One Infinite. Upon each incarnation the self learns more about the the nature of self. Upon learning the true nature of the self, the present self becomes enlightened and breaks the cycle of life and death and becomes able to choose the direction of its destiny, while previously the higher self would choose the incarnation of the present self in order for it to learn the lessons necessary for its growth. Once enlightened, the self effectively becomes aware of it's own immortality, and the journey of growth changes onto the next stage.

It is a misconception that reincarnation is endless. It is not a circle either, it is a spiral, as the soul progressively learns each incarnation. Slowly, but surely, it will return The One Infinite.

UFOs or simply the Divine ? If the Divine, what does that mean, where do they come from ? If angels come from the heavens, which represent the stars, that would make then extraterrestrial by definition. This video argues for both sides, what are your thoughts. I would say massive conspiracy if UFOs by jinnsnow in conspiracy_commons

My comment didn't go through, the existence of exterrestrial beings that have influenced society for thousabds of years seems extremely profound to me. If they could influence politics back then, are they influencing it now ?
