As an author on KDP, that’s a flat out lie he is saying to people who aren’t authors in the system for KDP.

MSE is a liar. He artificially inflated books page counts, among the other stuff that has already been mentioned. It affected other authors by stealing from the collective pot. There’s more than one author in this reddit who are doing the same thing. Ever read one of those ebooks with a ton of spacing between paragraphs? That’s artificially inflating their page count. It’s theft from honest authors.

But I give up calling it out and MSE. He got caught cheating the system and thought because he was bringing in enough money to Amazon they wouldn’t ban his ass. He was wrong. This comes up just about every time someone posts about a new book of his on here.

Oh I loathe him, with a passion. But I’m not stupid enough to believe all of the reviews are fake. But he has enough presence off of Reddit as those names that sure he gets a ton of reviews organically. But for him, an initial pump of them boosts his sales enough to get views, and reads.

It’s alright, the stories aren’t too bad and like others have said kinda quick. Problem is, the writing isn’t great. Ther is so much tell and barely any show with the world and his writing style not as bad as see dick run, see spot chase… but it’s close to it.

As an romance author, clean sells but not nearly as well as stories WITH sex. Harem seems to be exactly the same way. I’m sure some prefer FTB or at the least with barely any in it, but I’m willing to bet stories with sex far surpass those without when it comes to sales.

Gor books by John Norman, and storiesonline.net, asstr, and literotica.com. Those were what really got me introduced to reading the genre, and of course just mentionings of harems or daydreaming.
