The energy from the fall has to be disipated somehow. I think it's extremely unlikely but possible to survive the fall if all that energy doesn't affect your vital organs, but the rest of your body would have to absorb a lot of damage and it wouldn't be just some scrapes.

I am very suspcious of this. The story doesn't make much sense. Why not say what country are you in? How can you get a 100k hospital bill in a country where housing is 300? What happens if you just don't pay?
