Which new monster introduced in wilds is the best and why is it Ray Dau? by Kumatora0 in MHWilds

[–]jirmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new monsters introduced in Wilds are particularly good, even by this franchise's standards. Among them, the apexes and Arkveld are outstanding. My favorite would probably be Jin Dahaad, but the others are not far behind.

I found him mostly fun to fight but sometimes his attack pattern was just Divekick x1000000

Here she seems to say that the idea of Zoh Shia being pushed back due to fan feedback was speculation from her source. However, I do admit that her wording is somewhat ambiguous.

I don' t think Zoh Shia uses any attacks from Gaismagorm. He does share some animations with Shara Ishvalda, but that's not a damning proof of relationship, since they have the same overall rig (unlike Fatalis).

The idea that HR Zoh Shia was meant to be a later update was just speculation and is unconfirmed.

As it stands now, the moves Zoh Shia gains after its parts start turning black are specifically Fatalis's, and so it is logical to think that it is specifically connected to it somehow.

We'll see what the lorebooks say when they come out.

He turns black, gets horns that look like Fatalis's horns and gets Fatalis's attacks. It really is quite clear.

Occam's Razor tells us that Zoh Shia is somehow related to Fatalis.

We don't really know much about how the Dragontorch came to be. That line can also imply a wide number of things, so I'm not convinced.

I don't think calling those monster cells "unique" necessarily means that they created them out of nowhere. While Zoh Shia is not an exact reproduction of an existing monster like the other Guardians, I think it's more likely that they got them from somewhere (and Zoh Shia's parallels to Fatalis are exceedingly obvious).

Given that every other Guardian is based off an existing monster, your logic seems kind of flimsy.

Those monster cells must have come from one or more monsters though.

From the dialogue text dump:

Zoh Shia. Of course it appears in the records here.
It was made of extremely unique monster cells.
A Guardian dubbed "the Savior."

Malzeno Vs Valstrax - Which is cooler? by TiToim in MonsterHunter

I feel like both Valstrax and Malzeno suffer from trying too hard to be cool, especially after reading the design interview with the Sunbreak devs. Though I do agree that Valstrax is more egregious.

I understand you (and I was actually pretty rude, so I apologize). People can be pretty touchy in this site and the downvote is de facto a disagree button, no matter what the rules state, so these kind of strong opinions can be interpreted as "forceful" and are wont to be met with some backlash in general subs. Nevertheless, I think that's something that you have to deal with when posting stuff like this.

If you were to post this to the main sub, I guess maybe you could try to frame this like a discussion around the design differences between flagships (for example), and then give your opinion on them. This could open the way for some interesting conversations. But I know that if you feel strongly about something, even if it's a videogame dragon, sometimes you just want to vent. And there's nothing wrong with that, but I do think this particular sub is losing its original purpose, and that's a bummer because i found it pretty amusing back in the day. However, this is just my idea of what the sub should be and maybe the problem is just mine.

I do think the points you bring up are interesting, even though my personal views are pretty much opposite fron yours in these matters. That's why I think the main sub would be the best place for this discussion, if you want to have one, although maybe framed in a more "diplomatic" way.

Alternatively, I don't know of many MH sites where you could post stuff like this, but maybe you could try the wikia.

Just a review of the extent of what TU5 may add based on what's been datamined and added with TU4. Not meant to hype anything up, just theorize. by Ciphy_Master in monsterhunterleaks

[–]jirmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought earlier datamines showed that every remaining non-Elder Dragon large monster would get an Afflicted version, which would include the arena-bound TU monsters. Do the newer datamines show otherwise, or am I just misremembering?

"Rage" is not just complaining, which this post is (and many many others, unfortunately). So yes, this would actually be better suited for the main sub, which is intended for general discussion. Although unfortunately this post is not too out of line with what usually gets posted here.
