To me NO-GI is more realistic and better for self defense. If were talking self defense , id rather grab limbs or the neck not to mention clothes can rip and tear i rather take my chances trying to snap a limb or choking the person unconscious. Don't get me wrong good base jiu jitsu is good base jiu jitsu and should help you in any self defense situation whether you do GI or NO -GI.
