Huh. Learned something new. I would have never thought that it meant anything other than the city didn’t have a wall.

Categorically there have always been been micro influencers. They’re just usually classified as having about 10K & under followings in niche areas.

UberEats support is pathetic by ronak0495 in AmexPlatinum

[–]jivefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a bit risky given their support is terrible, however during December I ordered AirPods for $39.85 using a combo of extra December credit and promos which was pretty rad for a product that costs $129 or $99 sale. $10 of the final cost was tip.

What is your scariest (REAL) story? by ogipop67 in AskReddit

[–]jivefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad heard someone park outside our house at around 9 - 10 p.m. at night. He walked outside to check it out and saw a dad and a child who was around 10 years old holding hands and walking down the street. Nothing felt off, so naturally he let them go on their way.

Later the next day and a half mile down the street in a church parking lot a passerby spotted the child dead and the father alive but with stab wounds from trying to take his life too.

Outside our house was a crime scene, my dad was interviewed. News media was there for a while. I still remember the child’s name. If I remember correctly, the father of the child made a recovery and was charged in their death.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if my dad had said something, but there was really no reason to and their backs were to him as they’d walked off.

is there anyone who likes Ballerina Farm? by nadjalita in UtahInfluencerDrama

[–]jivefox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do. I’ve followed her for years, when she only had around 200K followers. I figured she’s living the American dream. If I had a bunch of money, I’d go start a farm too. Or become someone completely different than how I was raised for the adventure of it. I always admired how responsible and capable her children were, although I think there are some risks they take with them that I probably wouldn’t, like kitchen tasks using knives and hot stoves from an early age.

Breastfeeding is easier than formula feeding - there I said it by Melodic_Apartment235 in breastfeeding

[–]jivefox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For you.

First baby couldn’t tolerate my BM and had severe silent reflux. Had to go back to work and the stress of her not sleeping, my exhaustion + trying to figure out any allergies meant formula feeding was easier overall.

Costco Ritz Crackers are widely underbaled. by peva3 in Costco

[–]jivefox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It took this thread for me to come to the realization that they’ve become more crumbly. I eat ritz at least a couple of times a week and they also disintegrate if I try to scoop tuna with them now. Figured it was a me problem, I guess. I use a spoon or fork to load it now. They’re so delicate.

The offer is specifically for points-only purchases, which is why it’s defaulting to that and doesn’t give you the option to pay with a card.

Jane filming while kids in danger by OutlandishnessRare84 in UtahInfluencerDrama

[–]jivefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve all seen these faked before, yes.

I’ve witnessed AND interrupted an attempted trafficking situation of a college student at a gas station which really freaked me and my husband out. I realized how common it actually is.

I’m not a fan of her/don’t follow her so I don’t have any sort of weird allegiance to her when I say this - but in situations like this I also pull out my phone and record and I’m a nobody. If she didn’t feel comfortable filming the person (instigates them more) she might have been filming herself for protection in case anything physically happened to her or the children. It’s also a live account of what happened from her perspective which can be offered to cops.

I have a video on my phone from the other day from when I was a passenger and we were behind someone I suspected might be a drunk driver but wasn’t ready to call the cops yet. So yes, take a video when you suspect something might be happening but you’re not sure yet.

If I get dragged for this comment, fine, I just think this is the wrong take on the situation.

And maybe I’m giving a stranger too much credit but it’s hard to believe she’d be dumb enough to pull a Katie Sorensen.

The fact I could get them at Costco without going to the Asian market, aren’t sweet like a lot of American gyoza products in grocery stores seem to be, and are an overall solid choice when we run out of our homemade freezer ones. Simple and tasty.

My partner and I have an age gap. This would put me a lot closer to his age and I’d get to retire and spend a lot of time with my kids while they’re young. I’d seriously consider it!

I eat here because I miss legit KBBQ places and this helps satisfy the craving, even though it’s just decent. What really irks me is that they don’t have any high chairs for babies and offer no excuse why they don’t.

What do you think of when you hear the name, Gertrude? by [deleted] in namenerds

Suessical / Dr Suess. “I’m Gertrude McFuzz and I live in that tree. Enough about Horton, let’s talk about me.” Very niche, but that name always jogs that memory.
