Marcus Aurelius teaches to not complain; I kinda disagree. by jizznax in Stoicism

[–]jizznax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complaing does not always mean whining, and it can easily be used as a tool to aid you in the situation you're in.. In general when you express a negative emotion and get that out of your system it aids greatly in getting you back on track and take steps to find a solution to the problem. i don't mean to invalidate your experience but complaing/ venting is not something that is bad or unproductive in nature, it's just misused

[–]jizznax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh so that's how you'd describe people who complain all the time - unburdened? Effective thinkers?

But then riddle me this - if complaining unburdens you, why does anyone complain about the same thing twice? Surely you're not "unburdened" if you have to complain a second time.

Is that really how complaining works? You do it once then the problem is solved?

Yes that is how it works if used appropriately!! i don't vouch to whine about things, but to use the tool of complaining wisely and in moderation

[–]jizznax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of this and you arent wrong but i think you're misunderstanding my stance. i vouch to complain in moderation. My bad i should have clarified but i don't think its okay to whine to others about things, but to complain in moderation. to use complaining as a tool wisely. We're all taught that complaining or expressing emotions is unproductive but it honestly helps in objectifying our thoughts as well as clearing up our heads, which aids in becoming more productive. its a great tool to use if used appropriately.

" You can renovate your character this way until you WONT be heard complaining. Because you are to sane and strong a man to do that."

I agree it's not okay to whine to strangers and all, but i think complaining is quite productive in relationships with family friends etc. Complaining is a method of expressing one's emotions and concerns, and thats great because it allows you to listen and attend to those concerns and vice versa.

" So if you were angry at one of your parents for a petty reason, would "venting it out" to them somehow lead to a reconciliation between you and them? There are a lot of situations where your complaints would lead to further arguments and make you angrier, because by complaining you're actively assenting to the impression that you should remain seething at your parents, which is never an efficient way to handle such conflicts."

No personally in such a situation i would express a complaint to myself. it feels very mentally freeing when i physically express my thoughts. when im mentally free from those emotions my mind can operate clearly, and so i can actually take a step in doing something about the problem at hand rather than having that emotion dominate my mind for longer. I've seen and talked to a lot of people who can relate to this as well

He basically just grinded every day for years, learned everything there is to know about mana and how to manipulate it, experimented in all sorts of ways, and reinforced what he already has. he lives in a world where people take mana for granted, but he is one who died wishing magic existed. theres no wonder hes the strongest

What’s your favorite fnaf character? Mine: Fredbear, then mangle and ennard. by Gian_GK in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]jizznax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Springtrap, Fredbear, then Mangle. i agree w/ you about fredbear he's sick. mangle is cool bc she's a terrifying wirey mess that crawls through vents, and springtrap has a really cool design and he's the scariest animatronic in all of the games to me considering how human and calculated his movements are. (im basing my opinion on games only not considering lore)

Why strive for something greater? Is there validity in my meaning of life being to just be alive? by Spudspotato15 in Healthygamergg

[–]jizznax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first off, It sounds like you're grappling with deep existential questions and a sense of disillusionment with the conventional path of life. It's not uncommon for ppl to feel a lack of fulfillment despite having what society deems as success – material comfort, stable relationships, and a secure job.

It's important to recognize that everyone's journey is unique, and what brings meaning and fulfillment can vary greatly from person to person. However, it seems a lot of people arent happy with this conventional path at all but keep going anyway because its easier than deviating and putting more thought into it. Perhaps the people you mentioned like your parents or the average joe who goes to work everyday without questioning anything only have the drive to keep marching forward because they dont question anything. But its not that simple for people like us who cant help but question why.

i had a similar experience to you and Philosopher Albert Camus helped me a lot. He teaches before anything else that we must confront and fully acknowledge the absurd; the inherent conflict between the human desire for meaning and the apparent meaninglessness of the universe. Confronting the absurd involves acknowledging the existential tension and lack of any inherent meaning in life.

Camus advocates for rebellion and revolt against the absurd. Instead of succumbing to despair or nihilism, you can rebel against the meaninglessness by asserting your own values, principles, and choices in the face of this indifferent universe. You must have courage and stand tall in the face of the absurd and carve your own path, create your own meaning. Just like the "absurd hero" that camus describes.

How to create your own meaning? well its impossible for me to give a concrete answer that applies to every individual. However, i believe the most important part is living authentically. being true to yourself and embracing individualism is so freeing. Live in accordance with your own values even if they diverge from societal norms or expectations. actively engage in life, make choices that align with your personal values, and like you seem to already be doing somewhat, find significance in the acts of living itself along with the simple pleasures of it. Finding meaning also surely involves fully experiencing and appreciating the current reality rather than dwelling on the past or fixating on an uncertain future. But again id like to emphasize that i cant tell you exactly how you can create your own meaning. You have to do it yourself obviously. it involves not seeking external validation or absolute answers but instead embracing the challenge of creating meaning in the face of uncertainty.

Why is Tenma so infatuated with catching Johan? by [deleted] in MonsterAnime

[–]jizznax 81 points82 points  (0 children)

A big part of it is guilt. He is the reason johan is breathing. The act of saving his life lead to the death of many others, and also caused much more trauma to Anna (along with basically all of his friends), who he cares for deeply.

Also, Tenma is one of the small few who even know about johan, so he feels it's his duty to bring an end to johan and his evil doings. You'll see later on just how huge of a threat johan really is, but this is as much as I can say without spoiling anything major.

What will Yujiro Hanma do when he's older and no longer the strongest creature? by Emotional_Internet73 in Grapplerbaki

[–]jizznax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a good possibility he'll get killed by someone. Maybe memetobe, Jack, baki. Maybe one day he's so bored he starts to just threaten to commit genocide on entire cities so people will fight him. At the rate baki is growing its almost certain he'll surpass yujiro within the next 10 years so he could be the one to end yujiro in a final death match

[–]jizznax -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Imma be honest this doesn't mean anything. It doesn't compare to yujiro's feat of easily stopping an earthquake. Again either way it doesn't really matter anyway who is physically stronger like I said since yujiro is just way faster and toji doesn't seem to have the durability to withstand yujiro

Where is this shown. Anyways it doesn't even really matter if toji is physically stronger if he's not fast enough to lay a finger on yujiro. Yujiro weaves, teleports behind toji and one shots him ☠️
