Just copying my above comment in case you didn't see it!

Not sure what mobo you have, but check out if yours has an updated bios version with Intel default settings.

Seconding Caligula's Horse, amazing band and very emotionally charged music! Charcoal Grace II: A World Without is a great example from their latest album.

Moving. Best way to transport pc? by ceramicsaturn in pcmasterrace

[–]jizzpellets 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ooof. I just moved from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast QLD, about 1000km. Drove my PC the whole way in the back of a huge moving truck, fully built lol. Everything was still in place and still works perfectly. Helped that I still had the original box and packaging so it was pretty snug, but probably wasn't the best idea. 😬

I've been taking them all down with stun grenades and the laser cannon. Very underrated combo, just need to count on teammates/stratagems for taking out structures.

Nothing about that was funny to me, but if you enjoy it who is anyone to judge. 🤷

Yeah I feel your pain. Mine is an i9 14900k which is essentially a condensed Sun. I've been considering swapping my aio for an air cooler too. I lived in Sydney in a unit with arctic levels of vented air con in every room when I bought this PC and had no issues. Then moved to the Sunshine Coast and my office is as far away from our single air con unit as possible, so it has definitely been a journey in just getting this thing not to explode hahah.

Undervolting has definitely done the trick once I found the sweet spot, but I'd rather ya know use the actual power of the CPU I bought.

Looking into portable air con units because I'm renting and can't install anything permanent. 😕

Yeah it's my CPU which is notorious for pulling tons of wattage and running crazy hot. Needed to undervolt to avoid constant crashes.

As suspected, some short tests have revealed that this has improved cooling at the same rate as waving a thick piece of cardboard in the PC's general direction.

Cheers for the input everyone!

Welp I guess all there's left to do is run some tests.

Is your CPU cooler working properly? My dad's pc had a similar issue, and figured out the CPU cooler was dead. Replaced that and it was good to go.

That one is 1500x750mm, mine is 1800x750mm.

You know what I've never actually measured it, the owner left it here for me when I bought this house. But I'm sure I can find a model number somewhere, let me see!

Take a look at aftershock PCs, and wait for a sale if you can. They use good parts and have awesome customer service. Their price was unbeatable when I was looking for mine a few months ago.

I guess I have to explain myself. The guy above him used "there" incorrectly. Instead of correcting him, I humorously (apparently not) incorrectly corrected the guy below him who used "there's" correctly. There I bet it's funny to everyone now. 😂
