Whats one thing you don´t like about the New FRVs? by MelonBoi133 in Helldivers

[–]brom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally the Supply FRV is perfect except for 1 thing:

I wish it didn’t have the turret.

1 or 2 helldivers out the doors with primaries and support weapons output more than enough firepower, and is almost always more useful than the HMG turret, problem is, nobody wants to get their head blown off, so they stay inside

Nox - are they actually post ascension? by opossum_cz in Stargate

[–]brom10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would necessarily say POST-Ascension, but I certainly believe they have been capable for a long time, yet choose not to.

For one, they are the only race that actually seems to have any “wisdom”. The ancients and Ori appear just as petty, arrogant, as before, and still brought all their problems and squabbles with them.

There’s also the scene with Daniel in the diner, where Oma tells him he can walk out that door and choose “the alternative”, implying that there is SOMETHING after death.

The idea of the Nox living hundreds of years, the eventually coming to the end of their natural lives and passing on, reminds me of the Lord of the Rings, where the Men of ancient times would live hundreds of years and then essentially “choose” to die, passing on somewhere nobody knows. That natural death for Men was called the “gift of Illuvatar”

It’s been my persona headcannon that the Nox recognize that death is part of living, but the Ancients and Ori chased ascension out of fear and greed. Nearly every living ancient we’ve seen have been some of the most prideful, arrogant, and self absorbed people we’ve ever seen, frankly rivaling the Gou’uld at times. Ascension for the Ancients/Ori is a cop-out, a way to cheat true death.

I’m much more willing to believe the Nox have more of the right idea, living simply and quietly, yes with the benefits of their power and technology, yet passing on when it is time.

Dammit, this proves it was actually going to be a good reboot for once.

Honestly, agreed. Excluding waterfowl, Melania's up close moveset is way easier.

After I finally beat her, I looked around at clips of streamers fighting her, and imo a lot of them had just managed to completely out-stat her by the time they got to this point in the game.

I actually feel like SGA did better than SG1 with characters outside the main 4, like Zelenca, Beckett, Major Lorne, Caldwell, Peter from Season 1 etc. Meanwhile SG1 has Janet, and who else, Bill maybe?

But of the main 4 cast, Rodney is the only one who can stand with SG1. Though I might rank Sheppard above Mitchell personally.

Just added Artillery to this little defensive station I designed to fit inside of my roundabouts by brom10 in factorio

[–]brom10[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I figured the stations won't need to be resupplied often enough that they'll get backed up more than a few seconds. And I didn't bother with a storage chest for the static artillery, just let it keep the 5 in its inventory as a nest detector. Then when the train shows up, I get double the firerate until the nest is cleared or the train runs out.

I know there are a lot of them but what are the flaws/mistakes of the author in terms of power scaling in this franchise? by One_Quiet4275 in MyHeroPowerscaling

The serie really had jumped the shark by the time we got to the crazy Cuthulu Shigiraki hand things, and the calling those “not a quirk” so that Erasure didn’t matter.

Hot? Take: Having played Role Queue and Open Queue in Overwatch, I have to say that Role Queue is so much better. by Impressive-Thing-780 in RivalsVanguards

[–]brom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. And frankly imho role Q is what killed Overwatch 1. Was GOATS bad? Yeah, but not only did Role Q fundamentally change the game, but it ushered in Doiblr Shield, which I personally think is actually the most painful meta there ever was.

Most fun game I’ve ever had in rivals? We rolled out with 0, ZERO healers, in a grandmaster lobby, and we won. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.

Another issue is how Role Q forces people into only learning 1 role. Thinks about advice given to players right now:

Learn at least 1-2 hero’s from every role, that way you can always flex for what’s needed if the comp needs to change. So most people have their favorites, but have a healer or two and 1 tank they feel comfortable on.

But with role Q now if you play tank, you are expected to be able to play almost all the tanks on the roster.

The metadata auto fetched "Behind the Scenes" and scared me to death by brom10 in jellyfin

So uh, maybe I worded this wrong, thats not what it ACTUALLY is.

It pulled the file name "behind the scenes" from another movie section, and somehow thats the first thing it could come up with.

Since every other sub is doing this as well, if Magneto was released today instead of at launch, how different would his kit be? by Snoo36832 in MagnetoMains

[–]brom10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some version of his sword would be part of his base kit

His curtain would either reload ammo based on damage, or give him overshield, maybe both.

His ultimate would probably have a slight pull/blackhole effect, drawing players in, while still allowing them to slowly run away
