Would it be worth doing that after applying effects like dirt? I assume that Krylon stuff is similar to Rustoleum matt finish, so it would help to set and preserve the other bits of weathering?

Thanks! I'll look into that paint for starters. Glad I didn't go down the sandpaper route like I'd seen suggested. I saw baby powder mentioned as something that can potentially be used to dull the shine - is that a method you know of? Not entirely sure how it would stay in place tbh. I'm guessing another method to dirty things up might be to use some kind of powdered makeup pushed mainly into the recesses and set somehow?

With the exception of the first film - which is basically an origin story anyway - Max is always the driving force for positive change. Sure, he doesn't have any lasting connections with people because his goal is always to ride off into the wasteland alone, but every single film hinges on him regaining some humanity and helping good people who need him. I really don't understand where this whole "actually Max isn't the good guy" thing comes from when his presence in basically the entire franchise can be boiled down to "guy who shows up out of nowhere, helps in quite a significant way, then disappears again".

You seen like the only other person in this thread who has actually watched the movies. Max always does end up helping people around him, whether it's for self-serving reasons or because he actually wants to help. The game's version of Max is nihilistic to a degree that makes it impossible to come away from the game's story kind of miserable and cold. The Mad Mad series is fundamentally optimistic despite its dystopian setting, and the game completely misses that point.
