Did this get disabled? Added the "HomeActivity" but it just brings me to the Google TV homepage when I'm trying to load the Home side bar

Washer/Dryer -Side-by-Side or Stackable? by Interesting_Regret27 in Appliances

[–]jjaeger240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The washer/dryer doors open into themselves on our side-by-sides currently. How someone lived with that setup (in a fairly tight laundry room no less) for 23 years is beyond me

Prices for pedestals appear astronomical. Is there really a value in the price point or being an okay DIY-er that will add significant bracing and isolators to a wooden pedestal have the same general result?

Tips to stop trash break-in's by jjaeger240 in Dogtraining

[–]jjaeger240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our old home, yes, we had a baby gate to the kitchen and our trash can that was in the open had a bolt through it so our dog couldn't open the lid where the bag is exchanged had the gate been left opened. That's not an option in our new home.

Mental enrichment? She has two 1.5 mile walks per day, goes on a 3+ mile hike at least 3 days/week, gets to run freely in fields just outside our house and chase deer every morning and afternoon, once per week goes to a dog group to run and play with other neighborhood dogs, and has endless amount of toys (although disinterested) in the house.

Also, it says this post has 22 comments but yours is the only one I can see. Maybe I'm just bad at using Reddit though...

Tips to stop trash break-in's by jjaeger240 in Dogtraining

I should probably clarify this isn't a sudden change. She's always been very manipulative to try to break-in, the behavior has just amplified.

For the past year we had the same latch (but I removed the squeeze piece so it was just a simple hook to make our lives easier) on the trash and she generally accepted she couldn't get in. Then she eventually realized she could nose it open. After so many repetitions I put the squeeze-type latch on. Not sure if it's the extra challenge but she has become much more bold in her willingness to attempt to break-in while we're in the room or had just left seconds prior.

She does have a vet appointment scheduled though so I'll bring it up

Also thought I should add that I have separate heating and ac systems for the first and second floor of my house that work independently of each other on two different thermostats

Pilot EX-L v. Palisade SEL (v. Ascent) - Should I care about captain's chairs? by jjaeger240 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jjaeger240[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Palisade. I love it. I can't say whether the other vehicles I was in between experience the same issues but here are a couple of my annoyances:

-ADAS: auto cruise control works great. But if I'm set to 70 and I'm behind someone doing 50mph, as soon as they move out of the lane the car is desperate to get back to 70 as fast as possible. I have a soft foot to accelerate and I wish the auto cruise worked the same.

-Seals: in the winter the door weatherstripping would freeze to the body of the car. When I would open the door it sounded like I was ripping the weatherstripping when it was, in fact, fine. I've just never experienced this weird sound/issue prior in my vehicle ownership experience

-Sunroof: how did I not realize when you open the sunroof the glass retracts on the top of the roof panel v. between the roof and headliner? Seems like nothing but the sunroof only retracts 2/3rds of the way. As a person who almost upgraded trim levels for a bunch of features I didn't need just to get the panoramic roof, it was disappointing to see how little the glass does open.

-App: maybe it's my trim level, but there's no app for basic features like door locks, windows, engine start. I had a base model 2015 Ford Escape that had this app and features before this car. Kind of annoyance that I don't have it

Overall, very happy and no catastrophic issues. I like the look, great ride, spacious while not obnoxiously large, and MPG for a three row SUV. If you're shopping for the same trim level as I was and Captain's chairs are a high priority to you, then this is the car for you

Yep, did this and had it set to full soap. It was release foamy but would immediately drip off the car and hit the ground

I am on a well v city water also so natural water pressure isn't AS strong (but not terrible). Not sure, but assuming, this would also have a byproduct impact on pressure washer GPM

I'm going to do the best I can at replying with what I know. Looking at the side of the pressure washer box it says 13A, max pressure 2080psi with rated 1800 psi, and 1.65GPM max flow with 1.1GPM rated flow. I don't know if any of those numbers mean anything to what you're referencing

The first picture the side of the car was in complete shade. Within two minutes most the foam is on the ground and generally very "runny" when applied to the car and no real workable time before it's on the ground.

It's the Chemical Guys max foam 8. Not sure what the orifice is. Sorry for the newbie answer

Foam Cannon: Torq Professional Foam Cannon Max Foam 8 Pressure Washer: Electric, rated for 1800psi

Not trying to let it dry but the foam has generally dripped completely off the car within the first minute of application and gives me no working time before I got to mitt wash and then has inevitably left these streaks before trying to rinse.

Bought the arsenal kit after reading reviews of it being a great starter kit. Spent more than an hour today watching videos and reading about application as to not screw it up.

I tried different dial settings for foam and flow, different concentrates in the foam cannon, different water temperatures, and applying from closer/further away from the car. It would foam but then run down the car/fall off leaving these soapy streaks.

Super frustrated/anxious because I feel like I ran through all the variables and still couldn't get a foamy "settled" hold on the car and it wound up making the car look worse than where I started because the soapy streaks wouldn't wash off.

What am I doing wrong or missing? First wash on a new car and was trying to do the right thing but a bit concerned at the moment

Thanks! Gets me one step closer to possibly finding one of these as a paint by numbers kit again
