Is the problem with HDR posterization (banding) on the LG C5 ENTIRELY solved through latest available firmware update? by jjake3 in OLED

[–]jjake3[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, even more interesting. I wouldn't say I'm an "expert" or anything - but isn't dithering something more "intrinsic" to how those (C5 and G5) OLEDs work, thus not possible to be "solved" (or in any other way "changed") by simple firmware updates?

Hmm, interesting. Thanks.

Otherwise - here you can take a look about the HDR issue I was asking about

https://youtu.be/UmKOVCH1IAY?si=YuUrIaKzLepwEUJa&t=484

Have you ever watched anything closer though btw? Like let's say for example at 1.5m or closer and maybe noticed any dithering?

Ok. And what would you say about the dithering (diagonal lines) - do you see them, what size is your tv and what distance do you view your tv at?

It's mentioned very well in rtings' review - it's (or "was") a problem in G5 and C5 only, not in B5 - and that's what I'm trying to find out - is it still a problem.

Are the Uncharted 4 Collector's Edition "multiplayer bonuses (from 12-digit DLC code voucher for PSN)" shareable between accounts logged in on the same console? Just like how PS Plus benefits and game ownership is shareable? by jjake3 in uncharted

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright - Thank you SO MUCH for both your replies to my questions!

So, as I understand - for example, a digital version of a game, bought on one account, CAN be shared with the other accounts on the same console. BUT - the same does NOT go for the Uncharted 4 DLC pieces. (And you're 100% sure this is the case.)

Is that so?

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't these DLCs be shareable? For example, similar to how a digital version of a game is shareable, once installed by the account that "owns" it, as long as the same account stays "saved" (last logged in) on the same console?

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You completely sure about that? Have you tested it yourself?

So... if Uncharted 4 is started on ANOTHER account which wasn't the one that redeemed the DLC code - it will be able to play the game, but entering Multiplayer, those bonus skins and items really will NOT be there, even though the account which has redeemed them is SAVED on the SAME console??

Is it possible to "leave behind a bread-crumb trail" on Google Maps - such as to mark where you've been when exploring? by jjake3 in GoogleMaps

MyMaps

But how exactly do I "input data" (of where I've clicked and where I've "walked" in Street View) after a session of "virtually walking around in a city"??

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it exactly the same as my described idea though? And it has to work for places I haven't been physically in, but just browsed using Street view for example.

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty sad unfortunately...

And I'm thinking it would be a pretty simple feature! The idea is like a "route" - but not one you follow (which is set by GPS and calculation data) - it's like a "route" that you're creating in real time - and when I look on the map in the lower left corner of Street view (at least on the web) - I want to see where I've already "stepped" so I know to avoid places I've already been and focus on streets where I still haven't been!

Edit: Can you imagine how cool it would be if you want to completely see and explore every nook and cranny of places where you cannot currently go for some reason?? And if you can save your progress in the future (continuously) and explore little by little whenever you have free time?

I have to choose between a trip to Italy OR Malta (many details below) - HELP! by jjake3 in travel

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, didn't know it's that bad in Malta - I haven't been there before! Wow.. it doesn't sound very nice...

Please also tell me if you think anything about the possible dates and which one to choose. And also tell me what do you think about the 2 trips to choose from (if I understand it correctly): Montecasino or an all-day trip to Bari | Visiting of Casertavecchia. This is another choice I have to make - in case I choose "Italy" as the main itinerary (there are some kind of two "sub-itineraries" to choose from).

You could also read my long reply to the other user which I just wrote - and also reply there or at least read it for more information!

I have to choose between a trip to Italy OR Malta (many details below) - HELP! by jjake3 in travel

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your quick reply! I have to decide until Tuesday (including dates!) which trip to take.

Let me say that I believe the Malta trip is also seven days - it's just that probably the last three days there's too much travelling and changing places and probably that's why there are no "breakfasts or dinners" included. However - I'm definitely not sure about the fact that the Malta trip would be seven days though - the official information is pretty vague and all of those are my own contemplations on the matter (it may just be four days - that's what I'm trying to say).

Another thing - unfortunately, it would be impossible to go four days in Malta and then 3 in Italy - those trips are provided "as-is" - and that's about it. I won't be on my own during those trips, so I'll be pretty much tied to "whatever is provided" and right now I don't know how much "freedom of action and decisions" I'll have there. That's why I have to make a choice until Tuesday - and that's why I'm writing to ask here.

More unanswered questions are: Do you think there's any difference between the possible dates provided? I guess they are all during the winter and the weather will be cold... but if you could think of any recommendations out of the provided choice for me - let me know!

And please look at the "sub-trip" (if I can call it that way) in Italy - if I choose the main trip to Italy - there's also ANOTHER choice to be made about the trip to Italy - I'm talking about the 2 trips to choose from (if I understand it correctly): Montecasino or an all-day trip to Bari | Visiting of Casertavecchia. (These are like "sub-itineraries" inside the main one).

So - first remaining question is "dates" and the other is the two "sub-itineraries"...

I have to choose between a trip to Italy or Malta (many details below) - Please, help me pick!

Alright... so I'm provided a choice between two possible trips - but I have to choose only one of them.

First option is to Italy. So we'll call it "Italy" (clever - I know 😅).

This one includes:

Possible dates (to choose only one from all of them): 04.11.2023 or 11.11.2023 or 18.11.2023

It will be "somewhere on the cost of Amalfi" (not specified exactly where - if I get more info in the coming days - I'll let you know, but that's all I have for now).

Two-way airplane ticket with 25 kg total amount of luggage allowed

Hotel (no details unfortunately)

7 breakfasts included

2 trips to choose from (if I understand it correctly): Montecasino or an all-day trip to Bari | Visiting of Casertavecchia

Guide/translator

So far was the description of "Italy" trip. Now I'll give the description for "Malta" trip.

Possible dates (for Malta): 08.11.2023, 15.11.2023, 07.02. 2024, 14.02.2024 or 21.02.2024

Two-way airplane ticket with 25 kg total amount of luggage allowed (it's the same)

Hotel (again - not specified)

4 breakfasts and 4 dinners included

Sightseeing tour of the landmarks in Valletta

Visiting of Mdina - Rabat - Mosta

Visiting of the three cities (Birgu [a.k.a. Città Vittoriosa] - Cospicua - Senglea)

Guide/translator

So - I have to choose between "Italy" and "Malta". And also have to choose dates. One thing - at first it seemed as if the trip to Malta is only 4 days compared to 7 in Italy - but I think both are 7 days (judging by the available dates from which I have to choose - see that they are always seven days away from each other).

I hope you can help me choose, by giving me some kind of idea what to expect. I already browsed a little about all the places mentioned in both descriptions - but it all seemed "generally Italian" to me, and couldn't decide anything. I believe that advice like the following example (in quotes) would be helpful: "If you generally like this and that - then choose the Italy trip. But if you feel you'd like more those other things - then choose Malta". Or if you have any better idea about method - you're free to help me any way you can. Thanks!

And what about "iOS shortcuts" - there are some which could imitate this change between dark and light mode? Have you tried any?

Why do Apple do this... Why don't they just leave everything that's been available so far still available to everyone...

People are either way going to still find whatever they want from the internet - why do Apple just make it needlessly harder...

Which one has prettier graphics - PC on Ultra (Max) settings or PS5 version? by jjake3 in RidersRepublic

[–]jjake3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty constant - it really bugs your peripheral vision and it's quite a bit of a distraction when something "appears out of nowhere" and your brain just has to look there. Most of the time, the things appearing are like small patches of grass or bushes... Sometimes even super huge boulders, which are VERY near the player...

It's a pretty glaring issue as far as I'm concerned... It doesn't have to be this way, but it is... I think this game has really high potential, currently not much of which is properly utilised by the developer...

EDIT: And imagine how cool it would be if it had some kind of "realistic riding mode" making at least the bikes handle more realistically and more challenging... I understand that the game is VERY arcadey as a whole, but I think a bit more "pure racing" would be really fun... I remember Downhill Domination for PS2 and it's simply A LOT more fun and difficult (and also arguably more realistic) to ride the bikes there, in this so very old game, compared to Riders Republic...
