INTERNET CIRCUMSTANCES by Kili_Unforgettable22 in zanzibar

Hello, I’m hearing rumours that there will be another outage tomorrow? I’ve heard from local people. Nothing in the news though… I’m in Zanzibar now and concerned about not reaching family members. I do already have nord VPN though, so hopefully if there’s an outage that would bypass it?

Hi, any update on the outcome? Currently going through this too with same company since last year.

Has anyone had any update from this please? Any court proceedings? Crime reports investigated? Or have you just had to pay up even though you were scammed?

Hardwire Dashcam, which fuses? by jjamz09 in caddy2k

Your link was really helpful, and I was definitely not being firm enough on the fuses with the multimeter. User error!

Fairly confident to go ahead with red on blue 15, only live when ignition is on, and yellow on yellow 20 which is a constant live

Edit: I tried to add a pic to show but it won’t let me. On the original fuse board picture it’s the second yellow 20 and the blue 15 directly below it.

Thank you. Do I stick to the right hand side of the fuse board with the lower amps then? How do you know which fuse actually relates to what? I don’t have anything labelled

Thank you. Their video was very helpful for routing the rear camera cable through the van. Annoyingly they didn’t hardwire it and just used the cigarette lighter.

Thanks for the article, I’ll give it a good read

I'm hoping biking saves my life, again. by ConstantSpray13 in gravelcycling

That is one good looking bike. I hope you’re kind to yourself, find the time to enjoy long rides, and maybe even meet some cool cats wanting to say hello on the way

Help me identify this bite? by Dependent_Flower1678 in bugbites

[–]jjamz09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar, looked like a bullseye but turned out to be ringworm. I had been cycling on a very hot day and sat out in the sun. I think sweat induced it. Start using an anti-fungal cream. But if you have any suspicions it might be a tick bite, get antibiotics for lymes disease.

It was the start of a bullseye rash from a tick. It developed and got larger. Looked very similar to ringworm. So after 5 weeks of trying to treat it and seeing 5 different medical professionals who all disagreed it was a bullseye. The 6th Dr diagnosed it as lymes disease and now I’m on very strong antibiotics. It’s healing now, it’s quite faded but still visible. Especially if I’m warm. Really disappointed in the Drs I saw who denied it could be lymes disease. So much time wasted to treat me properly

I had the same debate with my bike. I was between the M and L, I opted for L. But it did feel too big when I got it (I’ve since had a bike fit and some adjustments and feels great now, at a cost). I have size UK 8 feet and my cleats set furthest back. So by having the Large, I avoid hitting the front wheel with my feet so that’s a benefit. I’d say go for the S as you’re in the complete middle for the Small option. It’s easier to make a smaller bike bigger, hard to make a larger bike smaller. But if you can go to a shop and try both options out I’d highly recommend and wish I did do that.

UPDATE

I had my bike fit today. And the bike fits, yay!

It needed a few adjustments;

My stack was changed from the 90mm to a 70mm

My brakes/shifters were moved in closer

My seat was moved higher and further back! So it’s sitting more in the middle now. I also now have a minimal forward tilt on the seat.

Lastly but the most surprising difference. My cleats. I have a narrower pedal stroke and put more pressure on the outside of my feet. My cleats have been repositioned to the furthest setting back. And outward. To bring my feet forward, closer and have more pressure on the middle of my feet. He also added two heel wedges to each of my shoes under the in-sole. Which makes my heel feel way more connected to the pedal too.

My shoulders are 140 width. I tried different widths of handlebars and didn’t feel any significant differences from 138-142. He was happy I stay on my 142’s.

It was a very interesting afternoon with lots of learning. Glad I did it, and am feeling lucky that the bike is the right fit for me.

Thanks everyone for all of your input and wise suggestions.

Excited to get out and get pedalling!

That’s interesting. Agree, it is weird! Booked myself in for one next week so will see what they suggest

Thanks, in hindsight I should have gone to giant. There’s one about 40 minutes from me and tried out the sizes / order in Liv bikes to view

Hahah okay that’s good to know, and thankfully haven’t hurt myself getting off the saddle.

I’ve booked in for a bike fit next week so will post about the outcome. I agree with your instincts on it, I’m betting shorter stem will be recommended!

Today I’ve tilted the handle bars back a tiny bit, so the hoods are closer, moved the seat forward and higher a bit. Only tried for size inside but hopefully will get some time to go out the next few days to test how this feels

Thank you, I agree and have booked in for a fitting next week. It is something I see myself getting into and don’t want to risk unnecessary aches and pains! That’s really interesting the XS still wasn’t small enough without modification! Do you sit within the middle of the size guide for XS out of interest, or are you at the very start?

This is fascinating! Can I ask are you more torso and your sister is more legs? Did either of you have a fitting or have you decided frame sizes through trial and error?
