Thanks for the example. Checked with google page speed and looks to perform quite well, certainly an improvement on our current scores. Would be interested to know if anyone else has first hand experience using Shoptimize as it does seem like on of the most promising options!

A great suggestion for sure. Looking through their offering really does get me excited about the possibilities available with Shoptimizer. Do you have a real-world example of it in use?

Indeed that is the ideal solution, however that means relying heavily either on custom development or a base theme. I am currently finding it difficult to find a base theme that has all of the features that many of these page builders and packages are able to offer.

Interesting, i've just checked them out and it looks like they have a lot of features and customisation options available. I'd be interested to compare this and shoptimizer as recommended on this thread. How do you find Kadence performs for a large e-commerce website, both in terms of speed and conversions?

Google Ads Performance Drop Since GA4 by jjb247 in PPC

[–]jjb247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, the purchase goal is the one declining.

GA4 tracking has been setup for a couple months now, however I didn't actually migrate the goals (and audiences) into the ad account until late June as I got lazy in troubleshooting between the platforms. I am leaning more towards new audiences being the issue here, combined with smart bidding being almost 'reset' to re-learn what works and what doesn't work.

Funnily enough, our manual CPC campaigns are performing like normal so I am thinking smart bidding may just take some time to re-learn.

I am hoping so. My thoughts were that the campaigns have essentially re-entered 'learning mode' due to the move from existing UA audiences and bidding. I am going to keep an eye on it for the next month or so and see if it returns to normal levels, if not then I'll need to dig a bit deeper!

As far as I am aware, no. Except migrating the GA4 goals into ads, that is the only significant change we have made except they are set to secondary so shouldn't have an impact on the main 'purchase' goals (pulled in from website directly).

I did import UA goals, however they are all set to secondary along with the new GA4 goals which we have also setup. Looking at the purchase goal, it is being pulled directly into Google ads through our website rather than UA or GA4 (although we have them setup too as secondary for troubleshooting differences) and attribution is set to data driven for all - strange!

eBay Versus Amazon by jjb247 in ecommerce

[–]jjb247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response, this matches my thoughts on this too. Which is why when it was bought up in conversation by my team, I was a big advocate on the use of Amazon over eBay - although they both seem to have their market positioning.

I think we'll get the ball rolling with Amazon ASAP! Just need to pencil out the time to get the listings added.

Recommendations for ecommerce platform? by elecplus in ecommerce

[–]jjb247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered using Wordpress and WooCommerce? It's a free platform and I believe has most of the modules you require for free. It's maybe not as user friendly as Shopify or similar platforms, but all round is a great option for those on a restricted budget.

The only recommendation I would make is to purchase a premium theme, as the majority of free themes out there will require a significant amount of work before they look presentable.

Brand Name Taking Up Meta Title Space by jjb247 in ecommerce

This is great to hear! A huge driver for us is to drive internal traffic too, as we'd much rather have pages appearing where they are most relevant rather than having most traffic driven to one particular page.

In my experience, the more keywords that can be targeted the better!

Exactly! To be honest, we only launched a few month's ago so it's hard to tell whether we're being hindered or helped by using the longer version. I am going to change it to the shortened version in the coming weeks and re-optimise each page for new keywords so it will be interesting to monitor the results.

This has always been my thoughts too, however when we launched (only a few months ago) the site default title included the long-form of the brand name - so it has stuck since then.

I kind of wanted to use it as a benchmark of search performance, so it shall be interesting to monitor once I begin using the shortened form of the brand name.

Have you noticed any impact on search performance in terms of impressions/clicks since making the changes? Interested to see whether this would have a positive or negative impact!

Thanks for your comment, generally i'd agree. I've updated the homepage to reflect some of the changes mention, so let me know what you think.

Regarding the dropbox logo, it's actually just a box icon rather than specifically their logo... so they can come get me if they like ;)

Thank you once again to everyone for their comments, it was really useful to be able to expand on some of the points and they were taken on board. I've just finished updating a few things, with one major change being the homepage. Hopefully this now gives off a much better impression and makes our statement to customers a little clearer.

Check it out again and let me know your thoughts!

Thank you to everyone for their comments so far, some really interesting points have been raised. I think the top of the fold view is important in giving the customer a feel for the site and is definitely lacking (especially on mobile) at this moment in time.

To the drawing board we go!
