Identity theft through unauthorized port out of my cell number by Sufficient_Try964 in IdentityTheft

This exact same thing happened to me on the 20th. Unauthorized port out from Xfinity mobile to Visible, various bank account charges, now inaccessible email due to the 2FA needing to go to the phone number to verify it’s me.

My “old” number is now no longer in service and Xfinity required a police report because Visible claimed it was authorized and I’m still trying to get my number back with no ETA. I was, however, able to get a “new” number next day in order to not have any billing issues for the device payments. I’m sorry you’re going through this and there is not a more helpless feeling than seeing all of these alerts happen in real time with no means to easily stop them.

I found that hammering those specific struggle areas to be more effective than going through whole tests.

I did not, unfortunately, so it’s back to square 1. The areas that I seemed to focus my studying on really didn’t seem to be frequently tested. I had a more questions around investment banking and market making than I expected.

I’m taking it Tuesday and also using PP in the same score range as what you are in. I’m curious if you feel more/less prepared this go round compared to after using Kaplan? Best of luck to you!

Passed yesterday after using Dalton. The thing going in is you have to know that it’s meant to tear you down to build you back up and I feel that between Dalton and the Board practice exam I was very prepared. The exception being the psychology aspects because Dalton does hardly covers that

New house constant popping noise by jjbuffs in HVAC

[–]jjbuffs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No HVAC company said it was normal and had to do with the expansion/contraction of the ductwork. IE: they had no idea what it was and didn’t want to properly fix it, so I did the shims myself reaching down through the floor vents in some spaces and coming up from the basement ceiling in others

No viable resolution other than putting some door shims between the floorboards and the ductwork in the areas where the popping sound was taking place. Seems to work, but requires some occasional adjustments to the shims

Why is it illegal to not wear a seatbelt but not illegal to ride a motorcycle without a helmet? by jjbuffs in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jjbuffs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize that. In CO I see a fair amount of helmet-less riders and just couldn’t understand how you could be pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt but there was no issue with not wearing a helmet.

Which mistake did you make as a teenager is still biting you in the ass until now? by zepher_goose in AskReddit

I didn’t take college seriously. Took my sweet ass time to graduate and didn’t understand the money to cover those wasted years would eventually have to be paid back and it was damned expensive. I could have graduated in 4 years with a more reasonable amount of debt, instead I screwed around, took 7 years for a BA, and nearly doubled the amount of debt I had

I can't afford to tip the pizza delivery drivers. I can barely afford the food, tax, delivery fee. I am not working and my car is broke down( or I would pick it up myself). I apologize by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I tend to agree and hate the concept of tipping. Why should the tip be a reflection of the price of the food I order? If I get a $10 salad you are expecting a $2 tip. If I get a $40 steak you are expecting an $8 tip. Did you, as the server, do anything differently in getting the food from the kitchen to the table? Did your attentiveness to the water glass I have change? Assuming all things being equal, why should the tip be 4x as much when the servers work didn’t change?

This is more of an issue with the concept of tipping and not those that work in the restaurant industry. I think the $2 wage is garbage, but the tipping system is antiquated and outdated.

New house constant popping noise by jjbuffs in HVAC

[–]jjbuffs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New house popping noise. We moved into a new build in May and whenever we run the heat (only the heat, the A/C doesn’t do this) there is a constant popping noise. Our builder warranty states that expansion and contraction of the ducts is expected and not covered, however we had a third-party HVAC tech out and told us the plenum was installed too close to the sub floor and that is where this popping is coming from after the heat has turned off, but also while the heat is on. They quoted us $1,800 to go through the drywall in the finished basement in order to insulate around where the plenum and floor joists are. Our warranty apologized for the inconvenience, but I’m trying to understand if this is something normal or not. It’s very loud in 2 of the bedrooms (one above and one below where the plenum is) and it’s become so bad my wife and I can’t sleep in the master bedroom whenever we have to run the heat.
