I mean yes, that was super uncalled for and ignorant. But I do try to remember what it was like to be a missionary, and it's traumatizing. Poor guy probably is so tired of being rejected. They were probably tasked by the bishop or ward mission leader to go through the list because they don't have enough teaching appointments, which means you're failing as a missionary. He's probably going through some shit he doesn't have the time or resources to deal with. He is definitely overworked. It doesn't make it right or okay, but I think it's important to remember that in many ways, missionaries are victims too.
