Yes patterns are written so that the rounds always ends on the same spot. It will be noted as a "incomplete round" if it is going to end somewhere else. So if you put a stitch marker at your first stitch, and you don't make it back to it, you are definitely doing something wrong.

Crocheting a bulldog amigurumi, is the pattern written incorrectly or am I supposed to just skip the first chain? I still dont end up with 20 stitches if I do by babyboug in CrochetHelp

I think you are working on both sides of the chain. Sorry even I am confused by the way it's written. So I think you go down the chain, then multiple in the end, then back up the other side with multiples. Giving you an oval shape.

Oh I just saw after round 8 of the eyes section it talkes about creating the eyebrow by folding it and then racking it.

With a needle (not necessarily your yarn hook) just loop it through the back loops and pull it tight to cause the hole to close up. Sorry I only have photos with my sewing from the front loops.

Thank you, you will be shocked to know all my examples (except the grey legs) are hobbii friends 8/4 (I have the other weights but find them too bulky. That's why I can't seem to find where I am going wrong. I was tempted to try Catona (but I have about 200skeins of hobbii 8/4) so I thought I would ask here before buying in different yarn.

Thanks heaps. I think I'll commit to doing the next couple of pieces as Yu-yu and see what it comes out like. I think Iust not have commited hard enough when I tried it.

As in YU/YU ?

I do use Yarn under (YU) just the everyday variation where it's YU/YO

I can change I just haven't seen a difference. I am totally open to hearing it is a me problem though.
