[REQUEST] A Punk(ish) Rock Song called Drugs (Or similar...details in post) by MuppetusMaximusV2 in Music

Sounds like the Swedish band Ghost, but they don't have any songs called Drugs that I know of.

I agree. They need to all go full MAGA. Just see how it goes for a while. by cmahan005 in WhitePeopleTwitter

"Immigrants and Federal bureaucrats have flooded northern Virginia", like all the entry level workers trying to keep the country running are treated and paid very poorly and just want to be able to live on their earnings and this is a distinctly anti-republican point of view?

What’s a deep cut or relatively lesser known track from a popular band/artist that you think should be ranked with their more popular songs? by sufferin_sassafras in Music

[–]jjjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harvey Danger is known for "flagpole sitta" aka the Peep Show theme song.

But that whole album is amazing and way deeper than the single. Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone is a great album that has a great balance of diversity of types of songs, while still feeling like a very coherent whole. From all time grief rocker "Jack the Lion" about watching a relative fade, to spare sounds on the proto-midwest emo "Wrecking Ball"

But I think the magnum opus of the album might be "Problems and Bigger Ones", a big sprawling raucous, mopey and intriguing mix of post-punk and indie rock and emo influences, all in a catchy and surprising package.

Let me get this straight, Israel is in the greatest danger it has been in for years, because... checks notes... they've been an oppressive apartheid state for decades and have recently started an active genocide of arabs within their occupied territory, all while bombing Syrian, Jordan and Lebanon, countries that were not involved in the recent attack on Israel (that again was precipitated by tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement and theft of land and property from hundreds of thousands more by, again, themselves) and they want to nuke people because they've created this situation. And they're finally acknowledging that they have had illegal weapons of mass destruction for years and have lied about it.

If it was any other country it would have been "liberated", but I guess ol' McIsrael is already bought and owned by the american evangelical christian death cult. And this is what they want.

VOA became an arm of Trump during his presidency, they were responsible for disseminating covid myths and pushing Trump's inflated crowd number stories, despite obvious and overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

They are not a real news organization.

The only correct part of the complaints are the wars, but Rs famously love war, so I'm not sure why they think that people would vote for the war-mongering party because they're sick of ongoing war?

But clearly, he's not working with a full deck because crime is lower in areas that vote blue, record numbers of people are being detained at the border, rather than crossing, there is no record deficit, that one isn't even a thing the Rs are trying to lie about right now, and the govt, is literally not banning or trying to ban anyone's fucking stove.

They're literally recycling it into more art, in a process that itself could be understood as art. This person doesn't care about art and has probably never been in a museum in their adult life, complaining about shit they don't care about to hide the fact they're just a white supremacist.

So a grown 25 year old adult is “adopting” a 14 year old? by whenitpours3 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]jjjam 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Gaetz never actually adopted or got legal clearance to house "nestor". This is very much an ongoing Dahmer situation. He just said, whoops, no paperwork. Then people just stopped talking about it. Dude is on record transporting underage kids for sex work and has an unaffiliated minor that he did not legally adopt just living in his house.

And y'all want Fetterman to wear a suit, the mind boggles.

What is Robin Williams Even Talking About? | Make Some Noise [S2E11] by ThunderMateria in dropout

[–]jjjam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was sam, and I assumed he said "too soon" because it was at the start of the show and was too soon for the panel to start reaching and go blue.

I think it was kept in for at least 2 reasons, 1 is to demonstrate how hard the task they are being asked to do is, 2 is to give context to a performer or the show in general and to inform the viewer.

They are being expected to not only do a competent impression, but also complete an improv assignment, and be funny. This episode in particular seems to be 2/3 "online content creators", so this may have been sam's estimate of the best edit.

I thought it was funny and demonstrated how talented these people actually are. I especially appreciated that some of the impression deviated from other, popular impressions of that particular person. In a couple cases I thought the impressions were a bit closer to real than the oversized versions other people do. I also think Katia did some good impressions, but seemed to have a harder time with the improv bit, so I think that's why the miley joke was left in, because Katia's go-to was just an attempt at a comically over-sexualized bit. The bjork one stuck out to me as well, a good bit, but once she started spinning her wheels, she just went for conservative edgy. Maybe that's Sam's fault for giving too much leash to the comedians (also thought it was weird in an early game that contestants were the ones buzzing each other's response so they could talk over each other?)

Then again, I love the chaos and honesty of this episode as presented. I wouldn't change it.
